>think the perspective is off>draw perspective lines and confirm accuracy>think anatomy is off>consult an anatomy chart or a photo reference for accuracy>think values are off>turn image black and white to see what's wrongAre there any methods like this for checking for hue and saturation palette choices? I want to create harmonious palettes scenes that I don't have existing references to color pick from and I have no idea how, I adjust shit with sliders and nothing seems right Pic semi related, an example of a palette that feels almost there but not quite
>>7907530>Pic semi related, an example of a palette that feels almost there but not quiteIts not there because it doesnt have any "sunlight" anywhere, the grass is lit but there are no highlights. It kinda looks like they got some haze or overcast even. As for everything else, you just get better at everything as you draw so you'll be able to spot mistakes more.As for hue or saturation specifically, just focus on the values, values matter more, and this does not have a highlight. Only the bird has a highlight around it and it looks off/weird with the sparkles.
>>7907530>I adjust shit with sliders and nothing seems rightOh that explains it. Yeah ngmi, focus on values first retard. Doesnt matter if your colors are perfect, if your values suck, its gonna look like SHIT you nigger.
>>7907697>Yeah ngmi, focus on values first retard.Did you even read the post before replying to it, you dribbling faggot? They're asking if there's a way to check your palette like you can with your values.>think values are off>turn image black and white to see what's wrong>Are there any methods like this for checking for hue and saturation palette choices?>>7907530That said, the retard above is right in that getting the values right often means the colours, even when poorly chosen, still often end up looking correct.Ultimately, if think colour choice is a lot of guess work, and relies on your sensibilities and taste to check it, rather than having any concrete methods of check it's 'correctness', much like with composition, or the quality of the image as a whole. There are methods, just like with composition, that will help with your colour choices, like the 60:30:10 rule, and such.
>>7907530If your picture is supposed to tell me you like vivid colors like I do, had to learn how to grind values daily and taught myself how to color in greyscale. Sorry bro. Even if you're not a high contrastfag like I am, the values will always throw it off and make any color you choose look like shit even if you check saturation 5000x.>Are there any methods like this for checking for hue and saturation palette choices?Create a layer and color it a grey color with an rgb value of 125 125 125 and set the layer you're doing your coloring on to the mode Color on top of that grey layer.

>>7907530why are you so fucking retarded, you worthless nigger?color and fucking light, every fucking thread you get told and you never fucking learn, you brown fucking permabeg
>>7907719Light and value are almost entirely separate from hue and saturation, here's a painting with good values shifted into shitty hue and saturation but with the exact same values as the original Use your knowledge of hue and saturation to get it back into its original state
>>7907889I said color and light, not light and value, you dumb nigger, the book you keep getting told to read every time you make this shitty thread
>>7907894Did you read that book? If you did cite the relevant parts and use them to restore the painting to its original hue, otherwise stop spamming off topic replies
