I've been playing around with acrylics. I kind of like this one. How terrible is it?

>>7907752There isnt much to critique here cause its all wrong, you can just pick a spot and point out an error. guessing you are an absolute beginner. I dont know much about painting but to my understanding you should get the forms right with a sketch before rendering. I think at your stage it doesnt really matter thougheverbeitly since you could just start a new painting and improve if you put slightly more effort in.

>>7907752It's a pretty good start. I would recomend you to stop using black for making darker colours. Every time you want to make something look darker just mix up opposite colours. And also use a refrence for practice and pay attention to what you are seeing in the refrence, I bet the lion's nose didn't look like a literal piink triangle in the photo. I know some artists do that intentionally but you need to learn the rules to break them.

I'm just starting all this, obviously, but I enjoy doing it quite a bit. I am hopeful it is something I can keep doing to keep my mind healthy as I am recovering from a left leg amputation following being run over by a bus. In a fair amount of physical pain, and even more phantom pain. This helps to distract from that.

The turtle is cute but doesn’t make me feel much other than delight at his tiny turtle space helmet and lack of spacesuit but has an emblem nonetheless, lol
>>7908071you know the whole point of art is to be fun and expressive. even the advice that you hear from masters are just optional. as long as you don’t make ai slop and call it art you are a respectable artist.
