When is grinding bad? How do you know when to attempt completed work?
>>
You will probably reach a point where grinding feels pointless because you can simply deal with obstacles as they emerge during your main projects.
I'd say grinding bad when it turns into an excuse to not work on finished drawings.

grinding bad when you get lost in da sauce

this is probably bait but
you never stop doing full drawings. You grind ON THE SIDE.
Doing only drawing exercises will deplete your passion quickly. Don't forget to draw what you love!!!

not unless you're autistic

I fear that I will try to draw what I love and it will turn bad. I'll be disgusted and sad about this fact and quit.
I'm not attached to subjects of grind, so I can do it with less (manageable levels of) fear.
