I can't be the only one that noticed that it's genuinely fucking over for art on social media
>put up all my best work on ~7 different platforms over the course of 2 weeks
>all fully finished painted works with unique premises and popular and/or stylish subject matter and names/tags people look up
>12 VIEWS total after a month, not likes, 12 VIEWS across 7 platforms and dozens of works

The anti-bot algorithms are literally killing everything in the cradle, I hope you built a following before the apocalypse
>>
even social media used by normal people like facebook and tiktok?
>>

Outside of those who reach random meme status like Frieren looking up, the network effect is compounding. Views will build slowly at first, then go vertical. Assuming your work is actually good.
No offense, but this thread gets remade a lot, and I've yet to see one instance of a poster who genuinely deserved more views or a higher follower count.

>all fully finished painted works with unique premises and popular and/or stylish subject matter and names/tags people look up
so?

Seriously, so what? Why should anyone like it just because of that? Thinking that finished work deserves attention means you don't draw for fun nor have you been drawing for very long.
>>
Keep on gambling, anon. Two weeks is nothing.
>>
>>7915773
It's two weeks + a month, it's clearly a shadowban of sorts because it doesn't take that long to start getting likes if you're tagging your work
>>
You just need one post to reach the right person through the algorithm. A single repost from someone big can boost you to 2k followers overnight. Until then you keep on gambling.
It’s also possible there simply isn’t an audience for what you are drawing. Is it fanart?

Not OP but have you really not seen at least one artist who's unbelievably stuck at 500 followers or something? Seriously? I know that nobody here even follows anyone that doesn't do porn and porn gets you 24895824923453 gorillion brown fans instantly but outside of porn it's pretty common. Maybe they've all quit at this point. I stopped looking at this cancer years ago.
>>
Nah, everything is fine. Follow your dreams, you can be a successful internet artist if you keep grinding boxes and tagging your works on social media with the right hashtags. After that, just wait for the right person to retweet you and you'll make it.

I checked out of all this gay social media bullshit in 2018 and I'm increasingly happy I did. Before the big sloppa came I was still on the fence but after then I never looked back. I think anyone who is still posting honest to god art in 2026 is genuinely schizo, suicidal, terminally autistic, masochistic, or a combination of the above. You must be the kind of person who gets up in the morning and wraps a giant dildo in sandpaper and backflips off a table to take it up the ass. First thing in the morning to start the day. That's the kind of person I imagine is posting actual drawings online in 2026. Like how and why in the fucking world are people posting content online when it's 99% overrun by browns and AI

People make good money from art online. Skill issue on your part
>>
>>7916043
I said honest to god art not whatever shitty FOTM porn you jack off to, you fucking inbred nigger kill yourself
>>
>>7916051
>that's not REAL art
Lmao what coping loser. This is the type of retard that lies to himself everyday about what a cool smart boy he is despite being a low IQ schizo.
>>
How is this for a strategy?

Use these platforms to get traffic to your own website, and monetize the site with merchandise.

Yes, but I've always seen that. It's not a recent development as OP implies. There are some amazing artists who just like to keep to themselves, don't interact with other artists, paint subjects that are esoteric, and don't actively chase clout online.
Those artists are happy. They don't come here and complain about not having viewers.

People have been saying it since post-pandemic that they're tired of social media, following by bot and aislop flood, now with content creators parroting the same
>"social media is dead!"
videos and talking points.
This board was warned countless times and every time it was just the usual spam of insults.

Two months ago Instagram randomly permabanned my account with 23k followers. Has that happened to any of you anons?
>>
i deleted social all media years ago lol
>>

First of; those who still post on social media are highly delusional and believe their ticket out of misery is right around the next fotm slop they're going to post.
Secondly; they're brown and autistic.

>it's only real art if nobody wants it

I will not pretend my art is anything but utter shit but there are clear signs of algorithmic fuckery. I was on Twitter before Elon bought it and saw my numbers go from low but fitting considering the garbage I was posting to exactpy zero.

I undoubtedly could have salvaged some of it if I spent more time drawing instead of bitching on /ic/ about it and I guess some of those 5 followers a month I was getting were bots after all but I don't think you can just grind your way out of it.
, it's probably grinding and paying for premium.

Again, I do not wish to offend or demoralize, if anything I want to encourage you to keep at it. But your contentions do not reflect my current browsing experience on X/Twitter.
I browse X for art a lot (my follow list is well over 5 figures). Right now I am exposed to new artists on my timeline that have fewer than a couple hundred followers, far more often than ever before. They've definitely tweaked things, but they are suggesting a lot more posts I would like, regardless of follower count. No one is being suppressed.
My guess is that X is now using AI to categorize images and making recommendations based on user interest. The only artists who may suffer from this are those whose works are difficult to categorize, or are otherwise unreadable for the AI.

I guess I'm lucky I just want to make art for sexual gratification and other simple reasons, instead of some deep ephemeral spiritual idea and vision.

There will never be a shortage of coomers and my art will always automatically find them and funnel them into my e-begging jars as long as I'm industrially consistent and passionate about it.
