Why was Ruan Jia's old artstyle so much better?
>>
they both look like AI slop but especially the right. Unfortunate. WHat do you even do when you wake up one day and realize this, kill yourself?

he hadn't worked in the game industry much at that point. so he hadn't had his soul morphed by the expectations of chinese slop. it the right image finished? feet don't seem planted on the ground

I'm sure there are more differences, but at a quick glance two things are obvious

>edges
Old paintings had more variety and softer edges were much more common, allowing the hard ones to pop out.

>colors
Again, old stuff had more variety with the palette usually incorporating a much wider range of colors, new stuff is quite monochromatic in the sense that he picks one color for the subject and sticks to it, armor is pretty much always the same hue for example.

It's strange that even these days he begins his paintings with a much richer palette and then ends with the most boring shit imaginable, it's not like he can't make something look interesting, he just pivots towards gray slop no matter what

Problem, plebbitor?

Color is vulgar, white peoples art is always about restraint and a muted color palette.
>>
>>7923632
I don't care for his art but it doesn't look like AI to me.

loos like overrendered slop
>>
>>7924118
He's one of a kind, HGJ is similar but still isn't at the level of RJ in terms of rendering.
>>

Have a look on artstation or something to recalibrate your view on art. Beg retards like you seeing anything skilful with effort put into it and reacting like some cringe teenager that thinks that not trying is cool is tiring. Let the word "slop" have a deserved rest while you are at it.

Your eye is untrained. Ai does a bunch of weird shit a human would never do in the rendering, especially hair. It’s very noticeable since it would be incredibly difficult for a human to replicate what a machine does, the strokes are almost abstract and completely incoherent when put under a microscope.

What does the art even say?
>muh pretty gay elf knight
Wow another white knight cuck thinking he is davinci.
>>
>>7924297
It's character art and an accompanying environment. She has human ears. What do you want it to say? Who is cucking? :DDD you silly goose
