I have pretty solid painting fundamentals but when it comes to drawing, they're quite weak. I'm just clueless about construction, how to create heads, whole characters and such. Which resources would you recommend that would allow me to properly construct whole figures in space

Try the Bridgman notes books actually, they translate well to a painterly mindset

I'm in a similar situation, good painting/rendering, but my sketches and lineart drawings look like shit.
I've kinda stopped worrying, studied proportion and then anatomy for like 6 months, which helped, but now I just do a crusty sketch where everything is more or less in place then just jump straight to rendering, without worrying if the lines are pretty or not.

You have to be trolling.

Only major complaints I have are the hips and hand, as well as the that right knee looking a bit blobbish and too symmetrical. Otherwise pretty nice work

Compare it to the guy from >>7924733 it's night and day, you are leagues ahead.

hey that's pretty good. i suggest reading michael hampton's figure drawing book together with morpho's simplified forms, i think you would really benefit from the stuff they teach, especially since you already have a pretty decent grasp on the basics
