>incredible progress followed by stagnationwhat causes this?
>>7930651>enough social media validation>no where to really improve when people ask you for help>anime low bar to begin with>loomis
>>7930651I think artists improve in ways you can't always see. In 2016 he likely couldn't drawn Ran in the abundance of poses he is able to now, for example, it's probably faster for him to crank out a picture too. And to be honest, 2025 is better than 2023, look at the face.
>>7930664What's the Japanese version of loomis?
>>7930670roomis
>>7930670Loomis-先生
>>7930651Every year is a significant improvement over the last in this image though
>>7930651When I was a kid I had a friend whose waifu was Ran. Whenever I see her I still think of them. Drew kinda like this with the "curly" detailing in the lineart. Wherever they are I hope theyre doing well.
>>7930651This is what genuine progress looks like. Improvement without losing soul
>>7930713all soul was lost after 2016
>>7930651When you realize nobody gives a shit about your drawings anyway then you also don't see much reason to improve
>>7930764>doesnt improve for the sake of his own OC and inner worldsanother sovlless animaymay artist
>>7930651Well, it's one of two things. They became complacent, or started drawing from imagination. There's always a drastic drop in quality when you transition from always painting from reference to starting to incorporate and rely on your own knowledge.
>>7930787There are still people living in the real world, not your autistic immature fantasy worlds
>>7930790The real world?Okay bro I'll have a number 9, number 9 large, a number 6 with extra sauce, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large diet soda please. Oh you got any extra ketchup man?
>>7930651what stagnation? I'm seeing slower, but gradual, improvement with each year.
>>7930677underrated
>>793090616 to 19 looks more like a stroke
>>7930651I'm pretty sure 2019 is where they started trying to make their own style rather than copy someone else's but because they were too used to copying they never developed their skills enough for it to look like a progression in skill. Technically they're better than they were at the beginning, but it's invisible because they started skill frauding from 2015 until 2019.
>>7930651Satisfaction. You won't improve if you don't care to try anymore.
>>7930806We outta ketchup
>>7930715All soul was lost when started doing cumbrain shit, so second row and beyond
>>7930651>becomes really good at drawing his waifuwhatever you say nigger he won so hard
>>7930651he didnt stagnate.diminishing returns at worst.
>>7930679I feel like his technical skills have improved a lot but the art style has declined. The middle row has the better style.First of the middle row is my favourite. The pose is great and the boobs look wonderfully squeezable.
>>7930651Art from 2013-2015 definitely looks better than art from 2019-2023
Sometimes you just reach the level you wanted to reach and are comfortable drawing like that.
>>7931147>Art from 2015-2016*fix
>>7930651Who keeps creating this dumb thread? The image doesn't even show "stagnation." You are just retarded.
>>7930651you do realize most people do art because they like it and not as some kind constant self-improvement project that is supposed to validate their life?
>>7930787realest shit anyone has said on this boardprobably my whole reason for drawing
