>getting a mentor
Or just knowing someone better than you, most people that are self-taught and successful corresponded with other artists

>most people that are self-taught and successful corresponded with other artists

All people. You don't become successful without communicating with other artists, you cannot know your blindspot and pathways will be agonizing trial and error. People claim they want to make it 'fast' yet won't take the fastest route which is having more people in your life, you don't even have to be that good to if you're sociable enough.

autistic permabegs are repulsive. Always asking for permission asking basic questions like a toddler and you know it's a 27 year old American.

>okayish at drawing
>power level suppressed enough to work in management
>would draw 10x more if I had a buddy to yap about drawing frogs and lizards and the occasional animu
>zero social media
>really don't want to resort to discord

There's a few options:

(for those with money and time)
>getting a mentor
>taking art courses
>going to art school

(for broke people)
>drawing 90+ minutes every other day
>learning the Cognitive Method (recall, baby)
>getting a buttload of references and then breaking them down into shapes and forms
>doing blind contours constantly
>grinding lots of shapes and lines
>taking a favorite artist of yours and then obsessively studying and copying everything they've done
>getting "how to draw X" books or anatomy/reference books and copying/tracing/drawing everything inside them

>Cognitive method
Stop shilling this garbage. It's literally just active recall. Everyone was doing this shit long ago and Darren Rouser already repackaged that shit more than 10 years ago with his Memory Drawing book.

Not OP but how to i simplify stuff like this into basic shapes?
>>
I'm going to kill myself and my neighbours soon
>>
>>7933324
All of that just because you cant draw? Fair enough
>>
>>7933324
I don't judge. But why the neighbours? And which?
>>
>>7933325
Yes.
>>7933326
>But why the neighbours? And which?
Because they're mormons and won't stop harassing me, I hope their worthless soul ends up in a pool of molten diarrhea in hell next to mine, fuck.them.

If you can’t get out of /beg/ by yourself then a mentor won’t really help
>>
>>7933356
why? is it becuase if someone doesn't have the internal drive and insight to improve they never liked to draw in the first place and should get that idea out of their heads and accep that their genetic destiny was to be a hylic for the rest of their lives until they comit suicide?
>>
>>7933363
Yeah
You don't learn to focus by taking a course or asking for advice or reading self-help books, you learn to focus by trying to do something difficult (learning to draw or trying to get an advanced degree or mastering an intense full-body sport) and then doing it. Determination, self-possession, and focus will come, or you will fail. A course can't give you that. That can only come from the inside.

How cruel, but yeah you're right, I didn't have any difficulty getting on a bike ride even when I really sucked it just came naturally.
It makes me sad though.
