Why is original art of black people so rare to find compared to white/asian?
>>7944410Dark skin is just hard to render and get right.
>>7944413So no one wants to draw it (same anon just forgot to add the finishing sentence)
>>7944410laziness and mostly entitlement. Race swapping is only a thing because fags wanted attention the og character comes with. You have seen those art "fixers" that would take og works and use the paint bucket tool instead of drawing it themselves so they can feel like they have actually done something "productive".
>>7944410Its there and then when pointed out it goes one of many ways>woke>white features>stolen design >uhmmm i-it was drawn by a Japanese, the artist wasn’t black>uhmmm so what if the artist is black they’re 1 in a million >uhmmm so why Is it so RaReYou don’t look for it. Your internet algo is different from mine and the guys above me. >but but Anything else?>uhhhhhhhh
>>7944423yeah, fags don't go out of their way to find black artist because they are so /pol/ brain and would even sperg out if they see it, but still doesn't change the fact the og black art is rare because the lack of attention it receives.
>>7944410A lot of drawn media is in b/w, and getting black skin to not look like a over rendered hot mess of lines is quite tricky.More broadly though, black people are more sensitive with their portrayal and abstractions; draw them with large lips, or draw them a big nose, or hell, leave out some minor details they seemingly self-fetishize (like the paler hand palms), and you'll be called racist.Remember that big hullabaloo over the Serena Williams being caricaturised in an Australian newspaper comic? They called racism about the way she was draw to the point the comic was making (because you can't point out that a black person is throwing a tantrum - that's a racism). This isn't me throwing shade at black people who do want more representation - but it's totally understandably why artists wouldn't want the possible massive headaches from what should be an innocuous drawing of a black person somehow upsetting the overly-sensitive.
>>7944423Where? It's either /beg/ shit or hoodslop.
>>7944423>>7944432This happened with Enchantress in IDV, Netease changed her face a bit to make it less chubby and they started boycotting the game over it.
>>7944413dark skin is piss easy to render because of halftone compression and massive highlight contrast, never post outside of /beg/ again

There's lots of it statically and just online but I don't use accounts for anything. they all mostly mog me which is good because I want to learn from anyone who has the content for it, not that I plan to draw many African descended folks as it's not my sphere, still skills are skills.idk what you're asking, make new accounts and random stuff online search
>>7944413Kind of is, but not because it's uniquely difficult. It's that there aren't a lot of examples of dark skinned people in art in media in general to draw from. It's especially a problem with anime because weebs have to make up for their lack of culture by stealing from asia, and they end up being predictably unoriginal about it. Even if a weeb artist is from America, you will never actually see American influence in their art and it will be always some generic asian schoolgirl shit. Which, only includes dark skin if it's a spray tan.
>>7944410Because there's at least 2 billion whites+asians for 50-60 million non-african blacks.>>7944435https://www.artstation.com/robotpencil

Art of black people who are original characters is not hard to find, its gotten better in the past few years. Maybe I am biased since I am black?>>7944413Artists can draw characters with green or blue skin just fine, dark skin isnt the problem. I find that most people struggle with depicting the hair, especially when doing hairstyles outside of afros. Its still a skill issue though>>7944432>you'll be called racistYou guys make reactions from these types of people out to be a lot worse than it actually is. There are artists on twitter who draw people fucking children. Despite drawing what is objectively more controversial material, some of these artists get commisions by major companies and some even work as animators. They get that far because they simply do not care about what people say about them, and thier followers dont care either. Most of these people complaining that you drew the palms wrong do not geniunely care about your drawings, why should you care about them?
>>7944410There are simply more white and Asian artists than black ones and most artist just draw their own race cause they vase it off their life.

>>7944552>Maybe I am biased since I am blacknot biased per say, even though it's not as hard to find original art of black people, they still aren't as popular. You tend to see more art of black people in platforms like toctik though. other platforms it's somewhat rare. >Most of these people complaining that you drew the palms wrong do not geniunely care about your drawings, why should you care about them?yeah, ignore those people. they legit don't give a fuck about your art in the first place. They won't follow you or even support you even if you do what they want. All that transpire will be them getting an ego boost out of it because they "controlled" an artist to do on what they want. Also, i'm sure you seen those artworks that were made out of spite like pic rel and it would get a bunch of likes, but none of those likes would even correlate in to followers/support and the account would still be dead as a result or forgotten because the people that were outraged only used that spite art as a fuel to justify their anger. Standing your ground will actually get you support and follwers.

>>7944552>Artists can draw characters with green or blue skin just fine, dark skin isnt the problem. Those aren't human skin colors so it'll look fine whichever way you render strange skin colors. But human dark skin needs to look human when rendered.
A lot of these black manga edits are often made by kids, which is why they act retarded sometimes. I cant bring myself to care about some teenager drawing Miku black, honestly these people just need to branch out of fanart to improve thier skills
>>7944590At least for dark skin you can use real life people as reference. Unless you are using cel shading even unnatural skin colors follow the same rendering style that is used for normal skin colors, they would look out of place otherwise
>>7944558>Mirko spots a peeping tom
>>7944552Name of artist in your pic? I’d love to see the full piece
>>7944567>Standing your ground will actually get you support and follwers.Sure, but if you want a art job, or already have an art job, having a swarm of people calling you racist - even for stupid reasons - will possibly cause job loss, and a great deal of job stress.Back to that Australian cartoonist, there was serious debate publicly about firing him after Serena Williams cried racism about the cartoon (picrel). In fact it seems that people are still calling it racist since every article I saw (when looking for it) declared it as such, with no room for interpretation.Picrel might not be a flattering depiction of Serena, but given it's about how she was throwing a tantrum over now winning an Australian tennis match (losing to the Japanese competitor if memory serves), such a cartoon is an obvious outcome. If I were a newspaper cartoonist, would I want to risk this kind of controversy (and firing) by drawing a cartoon about a popular black figure? Hell no.And if that's how newspaper reading normies react, then how do we expect radical internet lobotomites to react? So being cautious of these things is totally understandable in my view, and I think the effect it has on artists drawing black characters and figures is probably understated.
>>7944410They are usually not from well-off families so art is usually not their hobby.
>>7944410white people are discouraged from drawing them because of idiots and there are less black artists in general due to demographic differences and that is literally it so please go touch canvas and stop wasting your artistic potential on this stupid shit.
>>7944834If inner city blacks can afford nikes they can afford pencils and paper. And even if you do get them to draw it's a big jump to go from drawing nikes and graphic symbols to portraits of celebs to waaaaaaaaaaay over >here< drawing anime girls. You'd have to be on a certain spectrum to end up doing that aka 1 in a 5 million and then and only then be interested in drawing black anime girls, even more rare.
>>7944841That's the thing. Buying shit you dont need to impress people in your community. Those are consumerism and social stuff more for people in the projects. Artsy stuff are usually more for introverted people who'd rather just keep to themselves. People that you see pick up on art on twitter are usually kids/teens/college kids from middle to upper middle income family and they usually have their parents' full support, and so they can spend more time with their hobbies when they're not studying.
>>7944876>Those are consumerism and social stuff more for people in the projects.Yes and well I think the younger generation is rejecting street culture after seeing the 35+ uncs getting locked up for another man and finding out they sucked cocks. And then we have all these datacenters being built right near poor black neighborhoods, gentrifying their city. It'll all be snuffed out in the technocracy as everyone must be on "their best behavior".
>>7944628https://x.com/hesatyr>>7944839I dont find this to be the case, there are far less resources dedicated to depicting black features compared to white or asian features, especially in the past. You can find dozens of tutorials for drawing and rendering hair in different styles. Tutorials for drawing afro textured hair are rarer, before the increase in resources around 2020 you had to either use real life as reference or spitball. Even famous black characters like storm and elena are drawn with straight hair. This is why black artists have been more adamant about black features as of recently, they are compensating for the lack of good resources in the past. Again not all advice is created equal, dont let some randoms bully you out of drawing. Just reference real life if you are unsure what to do, youll be fine.
>>7944659>Sure, but if you want a art job, or already have an art job, having a swarm of people calling you racist - even for stupid reasons - will possibly cause job loss, and a great deal of job stress. That's a whole new conversation. Yeah, if you attach your professional life on social media you're basically fucked and forced to comply with the outraged crowd to a certain extent. Hell, even other black artist would get trashed on for not making a black character dark enough, because you have to "a certain level of dark" for it to be considered black. It got so bad that if you don't draw a black character like a stereotype , it's considered racist. I can see why artist in general don't want to draw black characters/people.
I know people are just racist when their rebuttal to art being poorly received is tirads about crime statistics and inner city blacks.
>>7944834Jesus anon, art isn't that expensive. Even digital isn't that expensive anymore, you can download procreate or even ibispaint and just trace traditional work with your finger. The amount of black artists has definitely increased since 2020, a lot of black people are drawing because of anime like JJK.
>>7944955This guy does the line work in a sketchbook (which probably costs $30, you can get them on sale for cheaper), then colors it in on a free drawing app. There is no excuse.
>>7944410I could argue, or I could instead post art of beautiful Black people.
why do you guys pose these questions like you guys care? It's 4chan, everyone is racist here.
>>7944979Just because I'm racist doesn't mean I can't appreciate beautiful black women
>>7944410Most other peoples think blacks are ugly.Black kids get bullied out of drawing.Retards on the internet will call you racist for drawing black people no matter how nice the art is. So why would you waste your time with that?
>>7945184>racists think blacks are ugly.>racists on the internet will hate you for drawing black people no matter how nice the art is.fixed>Black kids get bullied out of drawingliterally never happens
>>7945184Anon an account with 12 followers calling your drawing of a black person racist doesn't count
>>7945096hey..that happens to me too, only with jewish women though. I love those khazar queens and their schnozes but the males can go get fucked for all I care.
>>7944979A not insignificant number of the racists on /ic/ are self-hating brown people. Probably most of them.
>>7945207Can i see the these /ic/-census results? Or was it revealed to you in a dream?
