How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way is an absolute slog. Very okay for a beginner but it is very repetitive and dry as heck. I am almost done with it and I wanted to move on to Michael hampton and Vilppu then Bridgman soo baddd.
So why didn't anyone get pinned?
>>7967410Because people got too butthurt about it when they didn't it into a 16+ picture collage and didn't understand how making an appealing thumbnail means you can't get literally every faggot's post . They also complained about how only the circle jerk horny drawings were picked despite them being the most appealing and vast majority of the others also drawing the same thing but poorly. People even got redlines and advice too and still complained because it was somebody else and not them. Anon made the OP probably to avoid the same retardation. A graphic design masterclass. Fuck it up, OP.
>>7967408I hate to break it to you but 90% of learning art is purely problem solving and memory. It's only 10% Learnt knowledge. One of the main reasons of why anime artists are so good is that they practice the things that they LIKE with a lot of consistency and putting in the effort to memorize it. If you're drawing things that you don't like but practice it with consistentcy and memorizing. Then it will not be as effective as drawing with things that you like. It can work but is so much more inferior than just normally doing something you like. You'll be certainly consistent however, you will tend to not remember it fully as it doesn't fully captures your passion and interest.

>>7967599Come on buddy, you can't be that purposely naive. Most Americans, don't actually know, in any capacity, what it means to work hard. I'd say about 90% of working class Americans don't. It's why when Ching ling that comes from a culture full of tiger moms demanding hard work of their kids from very young ages gets compared to us, people call it talent because they are literally blind to the reality of a typical chink. They get put to shame real quick though when they're given equal workloads and ching ling manages just fine while the American demands, screams even, about muh money and muh workers rights. If you want the cold hard and brutal truth, most of us are just fucking disgustingly lazy. Sorry. Not sorry. Talent exists, but unfortunately for most of us, that was never part of the equation, most of us just want the rewards without the work. Very typical of faggots that never had to work like their lives depended on it.
>>7967605Nah most ching lings are just products of being overworked and don't know how to advocate for themselves. However, I do agree, like 110% of people on this board would tap out on their 1st week of working in the industry. I don't think people know how fucking brutal it is if you aren't at some cushy indie studio and while it isn't healthy to go to such extremes, they could all use a little more fire under their bellies rather than dismissing any progress as talent.

>>7967618I only use solid colors to paint lol. I gave up on painting with opacity or any other method. I was just curiously asking. As a sketch it looks fine but idk if you were trying to do just hatching or painting the sides. You could aim for more interesting shapes cause it looks like you are kinda lost a little bit from the stroke economy. So I aim for interesting shapes. You're probably better off looking at other artists on how they render and studying them desu. That's how I learn. It just depends if you want a soft look or not etc. Dont be afraid to use solid blacks, because blacks make the other colors/values pop out more.I mean you are already in the top 20% on this board when it comes to panting.
continuing from last thread
i need to fuck deersis
>>7967012>I don't like how the color overlaps whenever I press harder or softer, or make a new stroke, your shadows don't do thatYou got a couple options to avoid it or minimize it. Options for avoiding are to do it on a layer beneath your line work. You can use a multiply layer or paint in the shadows with opaque colors. for the multiply you can do below or above the lines if they're black or the shading is the same color as the line art. You could also make shadow shapes with the lasso tool and then fill them in that way. if you hold shift while the lasso is selected, you can add to your selection. Gives you a lot of control, but a bit difficult to visualize when the shadow shapes aren't there till you fill them in.As for the minimizing overlap, less strokes help. The reason I had to paint over yours is because I didn't have the lines on a separate layer. So I painted over top and where there was overlap, I painted over it and between your lines. I painted it the way I did the spheres on the left. Painting opaquely and transparently over line art like this really only works in monochrome, so I do recommend painting under the linework if not using a multiply, unless you want something painterly. I added a dot above the spheres and in-between the shadow layer to show what I mean from opaque and transparent. I erased the edges away from the transparency. >what does that mean. should I pick the same shadow color as the one I used for lineart? or a lighter one, by how much? or maybe I should lower the opacity of the layer? It just means that the shadow color (that we're adding above the base value) needs to be darker than its respective base value. You should have seen this here in the Marco Bucci video -> https://youtu.be/DQ5QF0q4QqQ?si=8g2XOOsFTcT5gMmV&t=168. The denim is darker than the tank top, so it needs a darker shadow. Same goes for skin that is tanned vs not tanned. Hair is darker than the denim, so it should have a darker shadow.
>>7967563south america and USA i think are the majority
cont.>>7967628As for how dark you can go, as dark as you want. You really just need enough contrast so that you can fit other modelling factors. In this case, your light values need to move along your color wheel toward the darkest blue, which is your line art, by about 50-75%.Keep in mind that before you get good at anything, you get worse.

>>7967683That other anon is not me, I started at 27, but that was 3 years ago. At 27 I started being a little more contestant and taking art seriously, and started drawing most of the year, even if there are breaks in between, it would be at least once a month. I tend to stare at better artists work for a long time and watch a lot of art videos during that time so my art knowledge has always been way higher than my skill but now at im the level where I am finally feeling comfortable, and when I struggle, I just go back to the basic art rules to help me guide myself.Im still pretty lazy at drawing, and take huge breaks, but yeah I could see myself leveling up quite a lot this year if I manage to draw a lot more.> the solid black thing is interesting, i swear i heard the opposite once, that you should avoid using itUhhh I never heard of this, I mean why wouldnt you use the darkest value? It depends on the style of rendering though. But value changes (like you see in vehicles/military stuff) is not uncommon, but they have angular surfaces so it could easily change the value of the side to pretty dark and well we show form with value (at least its easier to show form with it).

There's the right way, and the wrong way.

>>7968073Yes, studying anatomy will help you. You need to know where to place the body parts and how they move relative to each other. For example, do you see the subtle bend of the wrists in the right picture? You need to know what kind of movement the wrist makes in relation to the forearm and hand.
>>7968085so i understand how basic-level anatomy knowledge would help, but when i look at anatomy courses they go into detail about all of the muscles over the entire body and i dont really get how learning 90% of it makes sense when it barely applies to anything that isnt realism or semi-realism
>>7968073>>7968088anatomy will help you understand why wada makes these choices, they are not arbitraryand most (artistic) anatomy courses deal only with surface anatomy
Learning anatomy would probably help you immensely. That said, a lot of people who learn to draw the kinds of anime girl pictures you posted seem to have not studied anatomy at all. Some of them even try to sell courses on Udemy, and if you check them out there's no description of fundamentals, it seems they just know the shapes intuitively from brute-force practice and repetition and they can't quite explain how they drew what they drew. Then you look at the comments and all the people who paid for the course are complaining that the teacher didn't explain enough. Literally the "now draw the rest of the owl" joke. Generally though, studying anatomy would probably be the better choice. But a lot of these people didn't do that, and sometimes it shows but people seem to not care if it's rendered well.
Just doing whatever>>7968073All fundies help
>>7968097if you're gonna use the lasso tool at least clean up your lines
>>7968088Think of it this way. You probably learned all the grammar and punctuation rules but about 90% of it does not apply. However, you still know these rules so that you can pull them out of your head when you need to express something in a certain way. I don’t know what your aspirations are but if you want to be a professional artist, you don’t always get to choose what type of work you want. So it is good to be well-equipped with all the anatomy so you can take on the work.

Then studying color theory since it doesn't seem like this artist is terribly nuanced about edges, so...Yeah that seems about it. >learn anatomy>learn color theory>bullshit everything elseThis is how I would've drawn the anatomy of the pic (not much different). The more you learn about anatomy, the more "westernized" your art might look, especially if you start becoming obsessed with specific parts of the human anatomy (if that makes sense). For instance, someone might be obsessed with collarbones and start making anime girls with very weirdly bibly accurate collarbones, or god forbid the foot is a very horrible pit to fall down. Surface-level anatomy is how most people function that draw like this though. ymmv, like most advice.

>>7968162I think ear has to be a bit higher up
>>7967799>I think it only did so because...Trust me when I say this, you can really only begin to understand colour once you've gotten a grip on your grayscale/monochrome paintings. Your completely right about feeling as though it would fall apart if you introduced colour. Values are the foundation beneath colours and below values are shapes. If your shapes suck ass, values don't matter because nobody knows what you're trying to draw. If your value suck ass, colours won't save a painting and actively harm it. Don't worry too much about it, you're doing good.>I added a lighter value on the left side of her shirt and left leg...Yeah, it really easy to move too fast when learning shading. Although, those decisions will make sense the more you study modeling factors. I wouldn't worry about anything beyond just placing the terminator and filling in the shadow with a simple multiply layer until you feel comfortable or have confidence in placing. Feeling the form doesn't really matter here that much. What matters here is the logic of whether the light is hitting the plane or not. It's very binary in this sense, either it's lit or it's not. The reason I stress the terminator is because it is the foundation for all the modeling factors to be built on. After you get the terminator down, only add 1 more modeling factor to the drawing. Until you get a good grasp or understand why it occurs, move onto the next only then. It's like progressive overload for exercising, move along too fast and you will plateau because the muscles and tendons can't adapt at that rate. Needless to say, the more you know in a variety of fundamentals, the more you'll see how they relate to each other.Pic related is mostly just here to highlight how even with the most simple elements of form light, form shadow, and cast shadow in place, the overall impression of the image is set. Adding colour is stone throw away from there.Anyway, glad I helped.
>>7968154redline pwease
>>7967799Also what program do you use? Krita? CSP? Most drawing programs have clipping mask. If you don't know about them, look into them. They make some things easier. Although they can get in the way of when you want to draw directly. If your using CSP, reference layers are pretty neat too, although I don't use them. Effectively the "clipped" or "masked" layer(s) will only be visible based on the shape of the layer below it or the stack. You might already be doing this, but if not, you might find a use for this.

>>7968261Only thing you drew today was the air into your lungs
>>7968216That’s not at all unreasonable for 2 years if you have even an average level of talent (most people here have anti-talent so they get nowhere)
>>7968261I either don't know what to draw, or I fail when I try. So I just keep drawing the so-called "fundamentals."
>>7968273If you can so clearly see exactly what you suck at, why aren't you grinding THAT instead? It's like you're exercising your legs and wondering why your arms aren't getting any stronger.>I fail when I tryFail WHAT
It isn't that """talent""" is what's needed to draw better. No.It's the thirst for fucking learning and WANTING to get better. If you're not interested in taking shit apart, what is the point of learning a new hobby?? If you're not looking forwards to improving, what the fuck are you even doing? Expecting this hobby to just feed you dopamine because you're doing it?? This is why artists were shit like grave robbers and inventors back in the day; they wanted to learn more. They were addicted to seeing how things work in order to replicate them on whatever medium of choice they had. That's why when a pack of artists are friends, they all have the same art style. It's because they're exchanging information and tutorials, not drawing boxes and the same exact god damn hat kid over and over again. They're trying new stuff because failing isn't fucking scary due to knowing that eventually you'll get it if you suck down enough tutorials.Come on guys. THINK when you draw. Even if it's a little bit.
>>7968277Dropped my fucking picture
My thoughts after 3 days of drawing (copying anime actually)>even copying is much harder than I expected, everything I drew looks like a shit>hair and clothing folds are a real pain>really feels like I need to learn folds before anatomy>copying from a photo was more interesting than anime>couldn't draw for more than 1 hour, today I want to draw at least 2 hours.I still have fun. But I was really demotivated after googling what people drew when they were starting. I'm just 2-3 times worse. Also what's with some Youtube videos saying that the best way of learning is drawing what you want. How the fuck am I supposed to do it if I can't draw?
>>7968279Because drawing things you actually like keeps you engaged. If you're into huge titties, learning how to draw shapes resembling tits will motivate you more than drawing anal sex between two anorexic men.
>>7968288>anal sex between two anorexic men.*begins salivating involuntarily*

>>7968295>"drawing"Better not be the box guy there. When you look at your drawing, I guarantee you can at least point to one part of the picture and go>This part sucks.Sure, the whole thing sucks. But you CAN point to one thing and say it sucks. So do that. Point to something that sucks. And then go and draw a LOT MORE of that thing that sucks. Suck more. Suck harder. Just stop drawing the fucking boxes and cylinders. If you do improve, it's only going to be at that.Proof that talent isn't needed is the fact that you can walk, read, type, and fucking feed yourself. These are all things you learned to do. Unless you can't, in which case you are beyond help sadly and I am sorry to hear that.
>>7968279Drawing is hard and it takes a lot of practice to get good at it. So keeping it enjoyable by drawing the things you want to draw (even when you suck) is important to keep you motivated in the long term. Set a clear goal and work towards that. Ignore stuff that doesn't help you reach that goal. Like the subtle flow in your lines will improve dramatically because you subconsciously understand the muscle bellies and how they deform

Restarting with 21 days to draw video course after a long break.Couldnt be assed to do the tin can labels.I think the strongest are the tennis balls down left. >>7968520this is unbelievably fire (t. pomni irl)
>>7968520p-peak so fucking peak....
>>7968504Construction doesnt necessarily have to be about boxes, cylinders and balls. Think of it as working out a draft floorplan with exact proportions/orientation.An easy example would be the negative space between the linked picture's roght breast and upper arm/upper thigh. If you focus on it, it's more akin yo a triangle pointing to the right from your view. On yours, its more of a rectangle that has a bended side on the top. To better get a sense of what construction is, think of it more as "scaffolding" rather than specifically just "forms" as it includes things like measuring proportions with lines and whatnot.
>>7968504what you describe is what a 'block-in' stage isit's primarily a 2d process, to get general proportions and placements rightconstruction is about a 3d process, where you build/modify/carve 3d forms (they can be simple like boxes, or complex like a ribcage)both are useful

>>7968647It's an early low poly 3D CGI style used in the 2000s, it was elegant and effective for Games, and it was used a lot by indie 3D games specially "ero" like picrel. Also in many animes in the 2000s. It has that "glow" effect that was very common in the PS2 - Dreamcast - XBOX graphics. It was the beginning of the "liminal" style of the 2000s usually paired with jungle rhythm and bass:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1d_aEantvchttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijVo1pxtJZMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOjvfmjERNYhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUcKKrcsuYkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pKs6E5m9Vghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccPSH-Gr7aEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XInbuCw3jT4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wSvAH3LQZk&https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US2-Hvjr6Lshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEP3fmz6jV4

It's a triangle, yes, but...The first starred one is such a nightmare of a pose I can't tell what's going on. I think that's a great way to learn which poses are "good" or "bad" - they're whatever you can actually capture to the eye at first glance maybe? Hm. I just don't personally like it haha.. Your head looks like she's facing away rather than us looking at the bottom of her chin. I'd recommend a different way to draw heads, but only for readability.I've included some snippets from Sinix and Sugar Owl's way of depicting heads in a less-refined manner. Sinix uses that weird paper method for the face and Sugar Owl depicts the cranium since it's easier to connect to the neckHope this helps.

>>7969028If everyone got a (You) they would become meaningless. If you want a (You) you need to post notable work
>>7968783Beautiful gorgeous precious>>796860310/10 beautiful There I give you to underappreciated drawing
>>7968838Eyes and head seem small, also the eyes are a bit more symmetrical than you would expect. I like the pose, its cute and has character.
>>7969034Thanks anon!!!!
>>7969029welcome back queen
>>7967743the rare realism practice
>>7969048I will only post very sporadically from now on.. if I draw too much I stress over it and can't do it well.. need to keep myself relaxed about it.. in the zone.. so no too much drawing or thinking about drawing..
>>7969059i believe in you cutie
>>7969053bad proportions for the head, missing also its gesturenot paying enough attention to the subject
>>7969053Your body looks fantastic, but I think the anime faces you tend to draw are a crux. Her face looks older in your image.
>>7969063at this point just trace
>>7969063>nooo the drawing doesn't copy the ref 1:1!!hyperrealism photocopy jeet, I presume?
>>7969065>>7969067the point of the practice is to observebeing lazy with it just makes the practice pointless
>>7969068vilppu disagree
>>7969063A ref is supposed to be just that: a ref.
>>7969070if you miss out on what makes a ref interesting, why bother with the ref at all
>>7969074for some reason ecchi and hentai artists love absurdly giant off-model boobs and asses
>>7969068Observe, yes. Aside from the face the drawing is still appealing and follows the reference, which is supposed to be the goal. Not to be perfectly copied.
i need to actually start thinking about perspective / the ground and actually place characters logically>>7968782i like the face stylization here>>7968702sick, what did you use for this?
>>7969075PYW>You won't.
>>7969068>being lazy with it just makes the practice pointlessRetarded at best, crab at worst. This is the kind of shit that keeps people from drawing. Every line you draw has value even if it's wrong, you just need to be willing to spend time self-critiquing.
>>7969079I'm not even in favor of 1:1 copiesbut in this case he missed the angle of the shoulders, lean of the neck, proportion of the head and far armoverall gesture stuff that makes his pose more boring than the original
>>7969075time to post your 1:1 copies lil bro
>>7969067I mean the issue here is that the dude’s study did have flaws, but just overlapping it onto the ref doesn’t contribute anything to the conversation, because the dude could have just done that himself duh
>>7969088That's fair, sorry I thought you were one of those schizos.
>>7969089he won't, he's a no draw lazy fag
>>7969092I'm not, that's the worse parthe could've even slapped one of his anime faces and make the tits even bigger, and I'd be fine with it, as long as the interesting gesture was preserved
Can someone confirm if this is the correct placement of reilly rhythms on a skull? The brow region really throws me off because it doesn’t seem to match up with them
>>7969095well you know...I could also draw your own version and post it here
>>7969089I mean they literally admit to it being a half assed observation so deflecting about it and calling it stylization is either a cope or they're retarded and don't know what the goal of observation studies are.
I hope you all have good summer^^

I feel as though no matter how many times I try drawing I can just never "get it". I can't sit down to read, I can't study, i can't draw anything.
And what's the point of learning anatomy for anime crap? Without an anatomical design, it is impossible to normally calculate the location of the forehead and eyes
>>7969115>>7969121im not even the guy you were pestering to post their work I'm just a rando calling out the retardation like... lmfao
Just draw x4

>>7969172>>7969175>>7969180It's also strange because I'm trying to figure out who you are in the beg thread but no one draws like this here. Maybe I'm wrong, link a piece of your art posted here to compare and I will take everything I said back and apologize.

>>7969101Send me a clean image of that skull and I'll highlight the structure for you.
>>7969192Ok nvm you took too long. I was gonna knock it out quick since it'd be like a 30 second thing but time ran out I g2g. Hopefully me bringing attention to it gets someone else to do it. If I come back and it's still neglected I'll just fucking draw the entire skull and highlight that part. Bye bye
>>7968759I dun think it was better, and it didn't quite fit with the composition I had in mind, which is picrel. it's getting too messy, right? I just finished this in 30 minutes :D, any feedback?
>>7969198fun illustration, good job so farbut I can only think it would be nicer if it were rendered normaly instead of just red and blue
>>7969101Don't know the Reilly method but Loomis' skull construction is the best there is. You just need to know the planes of the skull in a simplified manner, genuinely look up how Loomis draws his skulls.
warmup from last nightI need to grind some sort of exercise today but idk what
>>7969215cute!but finish it, don't skip the hands
I still haven't been able to motivate myself to make a single drawing outside of this one. I still can't figure out Loomis. I still can't figure out Drawabox. I simply don't have it within me to motivate myself to do anything more than these sketches. I can't study, I can't grind. No dopamine, means I fundamentally will not do it.
>>7969208>>7969208Loomis crap, it's easier to remember the basis of the head, although if you're not talented then don't care
>>7969225this is who your taxes go to btw
>>7969229
>>7969172Shitty observation skills. NGMI.
sharty shitter having another meltdown
>>7969208Thanks for this anon, I will check out Loomis’ skull more closely. I’m decently familiar with skull planes, but I’ve been trying to pick up the Reilly rhythms as a quick form method, but the problem is Watts never elaborates on what line corresponds to what on real skulls! No notes on where to place them, just vibes
>>7969225You're worrying too much about loomis and drawabox, dopamine comes from drawing what you want.
>>7969225It's nice you're finally starting to realize that you're ngmi.
the GOAT
>>7969239I tried that mindset and everyone here told me that I didn't get anywhere in a year. I seriously think I need to grind more, but it doesn't give me the dopamine to do so.
>>7969248So you've come to the realization that drawing is gay and lame to you. That's a good thing, because it means you don't need to waste time on a hobby you don't enjoy anymore. Find something you like so much that it feels effortless. Don't end up like funschizo drawing boxes for 6 years.
>>7969248>I didn't get anywhere in a yearThey're more annoyed at your attitude, you went from genuinely horrific shit to passable art in a year, but getting stuck in the mindset of must grind and never actually enjoy art is going to get you nowhere, draw something and look what you want to improve instead of fretting about mastering Loomis.
>>7969252Anon, literally every single hobby I've ever done is like this. That's the problem. My ADHD makes it so that I fundamentally cannot ever ever ever self-motivate.
>>7969198>senpai's backGod I love your art.
>>7969258>tfw even the hat kid anon made progress and I couldn't
>>7969225You are truly one of my least favorite posters to ever grace this august board with your presence, and that’s honestly saying something
>>7969239I also feel as though I absolutely need Loomis because I need to get his method down to begin with. I barely even use the Loomis method at all, and I need to figure it out if I want to draw anything.
So glad I never got caught up endlessly studying methods from guidebooks. Just draw what you want ffs.
>>7969269See understanding loomis is different from being the worldwide recognized grandmaster of Loomis method, I believe that anon has a decent enough grasp of loomis but doesn't actually apply it in the real world. There will be no perfect loomis head by studying loomis nonstop, draw what you want applying what you know and take notes of your mistakes.
>>7969267But we're still in June.
>>7969274In europe it is july already.
>>7969231Fuck I shouldn't have laughed at that.
>>7969273I feel like I need to know it at all first. That's why I've been tracing screenshots.
>guy who probably faps to loli porn every day has fried dopamine receptors
Also, as someone tried guiding me through the process of drawing, I seriously need to get more practice of boxes. Look at this shit. I can barely draw it.
>>7969282I think it's worse that this is probably not the case, he would probably be able to draw something if he did.>>7969283>I can barely draw it.Yeah because that's not drawing, that's boxes, or grinding boxes, its borderline mental illness, you need to worry less about boxes and draw.Look up how an artist actually draws, timelapses or sketches.
>>7969291>Look up how an artist actually draws, timelapses or sketches.I've seen plenty. And I still don't know what the fuck I'm doing as shown here.
>>7969296you are so fucking annoying oh my god
>>7969273I feel like I don't understand it at all, and can't even use it. That's my problem.
>>7969296No you haven't, no artist draws like that, there are so many lines it would be unreadable if you didn't make them different colors, and even then it's way too confusing to mean anything.>you are so fucking annoying oh my godThis is what I'm talking about, it's just this behavior, you might have improved but this mentality is unbearable.>>7969299That is just reading the book, read what Loomis wrote.
>>7969302Anon, I've seen a fucking million WIP sketches before. I've even watched a fuckton of timelapses. I still don't know what the fuck I'm doing. And that's the thing. Already doing this is confusing enough with all the lines and I can't figure this shit out.Every time I've tried going through that Loomis book, I always give up around the body construction part. I don't know what I'm doing and the book never explains on how to actually draw the figures.
>>7969305> I've seen a fucking million WIP sketches before. I've even watched a fuckton of timelapsesI do not believe this, no one is making anything satisfactory by drawing like that, you're proof of it.>Already doing this is confusing enough with all the lines and I can't figure this shit out.Don't do this, just draw what is on your mind or get a reference to apply the method, focus on the drawing and not the loomis.>always give up around the body construction part. You're not drawing bodies, so why are you there, when you're able to draw a head you go to bodies.
>the pedophiles are the most retarded and incompetent perma prebegs stuck grinding boxes endlessly and crying about itlol
>>7969311>I do not believe this, no one is making anything satisfactory by drawing like that, you're proof of it.Yeah, watching time lapses is not the same thing as learning how to actually do it. I still don't understand what the fuck I'm doing despite having watched all of these. >Don't do this, just draw what is on your mind or get a reference to apply the method, focus on the drawing and not the loomis. That's what I've been trying to do and I still don't understand jack shit. >You're not drawing bodies, so why are you there, when you're able to draw a head you go to bodies.I'm drawing bodies right here>>7969225
>>7969258>draw something and look what you want to improve instead of fretting about mastering Loomis.I need to fucking learn the methods to be able to draw anything to begin with. I'm not even past the starting line because I still don't know this shit. I'm just stuck here trying to figure out these different methods.
>>7969245very cute designsome suggestions, not really a redline as I couldn't solve the perspective of her sitting without changing too muchmaybe someone else can help
>>7969198Just wanna say I love your art. Please post more.
>You should just draw what you want>Tries to draw what I want>Actually you need to study loomis more>You shouldn't focus so much on Loomis and you should just draw what you wantWhich fucking is it?
>>7969335It means DeviantArt might be better for you.
Like seriously, I cannot figure this fucking shit out.
>>7969328Thanks for the suggestions, perspectives kinda fucked wihtout redoing the whole thing I think. I tend to have this habit of drawing the body first and then think of the background which makes it kinda disconnected. Will keep at it w this one a little longer then try some more poses
I don't understand what people aren't getting about this. I can't just "draw what I want to draw" when I fundamentally do not know how to draw to begin with. You're asking me to do something when I don't know the first fucking thing about it.
Most people who do shit like this are either intentional trolls and/or they get off on the hate, just stop replying to him
>>7969343Have you tried not being retarded?
>>7969348How about giving some advice instead.
>>7969349Tried it, got told why you can’t. Retard.
>>7969351So then give me something that works.
>>7969321>watching time lapses is not the same thing as learning how to actually do it.It's called "Observational learning"I can search art timelapse on youtube dotcom and I'll never ever find anything like >>7969283 because that gets you nowhere and teaches you nothing.>That's what I've been trying to do and I still don't understand jack shit. You posted an drawing you did a while ago, since then, what "drawing" have you done, moreover your "drawing" still has the lines from loomis and your construction, is that really what an artist would do as an art piece progresses?>Yes, I am. That's what I'm doing up here.when you're able to draw a head you go to bodies.I'm not going to shit up the thread with another reply to a post of yours, unless it contains an actual drawing.
>>7969353
>>7969355go be a wagie somewhere else you old fag
>>7969354>Never find anything like thatReally? >>7957627>>7957610>>7957684>You posted an drawing you did a while ago, since then, what "drawing" have you done,Well, ever since this conversation started I've been looking at the drawabox lessons and trying cubes.>when you're able to draw a head you go to bodies.I've been drawing heads for a fucking year. Are you telling me I still cannot draw bodies?
concepts for a challenge
>>7969360very coolI think the one in the right might benefit from more clarity, right now the concept is too ambiguous
>>7969151>>7969101
I can’t figure out the hands this is why I’ll never make it
Hat kid fag not understanding what a sketch even entails is actually a lot more common around here than people think. It's endemic among copy studiers like in /asg/. Sketching is fundamentally completely different from copying. Someone who has become skilled at copying has a rude awakening in store for them when they try to find a workflow where they attempt to develop a drawing from scratch.
>>7969365good stuffyou might be mixing interchangably the brow and the eyebrow the brow is supposed to be there to protect the eyes, so placing it so far above doesn't make much sense, but the eyebrows can move depending on the expression, and can be really high up
>>7969373Okay, then explain it for me.
>>7969377Loomis
it's all about APPEALif you don't have that, give up
>>7969365And you just proved that anime shit has no anatomy. It’s almost impossible to draw him without a reference, since in anime crap it’s impossible to properly realize proportions and perspective
>>7969378I'm trying Loomis and I don't know what I'm doing.
The face turned out bad so I'll probably redraw it this evening. Sketching has been fun but I will start a real piece tonight or tomorrow I think.>>7969024Ty!

some of the usual supects
>>7969381Look again. He showed the the sockets of the eyes and side plane in a stylized way which should tell you why studying skulls is still useful.
>>7969083acrylic paint, watercolour and coloured pencil!
>>7969409We literally want you to fail, so no. No one will explain it.
>>7969354Are you going to explain how the fuck this works or what? I got an entire tutorial in my thread where the person was putting the cubes around the head exactly as I tried doing in that picture. So, am I not supposed to follow it, or am I supposed to not do that? What the fuck am I doing wrong? I'm really getting tired of this thing you fucks do where you beat around the bush and never fucking explain anything.
>>7969418We’re not going to explain anything because we want you to fail.
>>7969396>>7969396These are completely different drawings and the skull has no use here, anime crap in the right proportions can only be drawn by talented carrions
>>7969418Stop drawing boxes, do copies, draw what you see in your mind or from reference, try to intuit the drawing without relying on construction too much.
>>7969425I feel like at a certain point though, I need construction to show me what to do.
Following along with the skull section in hide’s head course. I need to slow down and do the jaw area properly instead of just winging it…>>7969390Cute!>>7969371Just go for it and don’t worry about failing
