My eyes are literally feeding me false information. It always looks fine from one angle and bad from the other. What the fuck as I supposed to do? If I have a systematic bias built into my eyes at the hardware level how am I supposed to overcome that? Honestly I think this is what separates permabegs from people who can actually draw, some people just have defects that make them not cut out for this

I have a wfh job where I don’t have to do a whole lot but I do have to stay anchored to my computer in case anyone messages me. I never actually drew much during the workday in spite of having the free time because all my art stuff was in another room, but ever since I got a Movink it’s really easy and convenient to start drawing on it while laying on the couch or in bed or wherever, and I actually have been drawing during the day now.
Moral of the story is that accessibility is really important and it can make it significantly easier to actually make yourself practice. Make it as physically easy for yourself as possible to actually draw. Clean your workspace to make it comfortable and appealing, set yourself up with all the right tools, etc.

It's really tiresome to see you ignoring any help, but lets do it like this, you're not doing it correctly. This is a waste of your time and won't get you anywhere, for your good. Do full body sketches from reference limiting yourself to max 5 minutes per reference, then repeat from imagination. Don't use construction, and if there's an artist you really like, do copies of their work.

How about no. Unless you want me to actually improve and draw the shit that I want to draw, tell me what I'm doing wrong and give me a tutorial step by step to show me what I'm doing wrong. Otherwise, I'm going to keep banging my head against a wall doing nothing.

You are incapable of following or keeping to anything. Find someone, anyone, irl and stop shitting up these threads
>>
>>7977187
I've explained again and again, that I cannot ever ever ever ever self-motivate. It's completely impossible. My brain literally does not have the neurochemical structures that are grown enough to do it. The only way I can do anything is by externalizing all the rewards. My brain will make me want to rush to the end and not take my time.

No amount of medicine, exercise, dieting, or telling myself to do it, has made this go away.

Unless I get something that works for me and my brain, I will get nowhere. Give me something that works for my brain, otherwise, I'm never going to improve.

It is the purest example of the creative divine spirit entering your body.

I'm noticing that you want to skip steps. You are not worth anons' time. To draw hatkid, you need fundamentals, the very ones that you do not put the effort to learn.

Here, go study for a FEW MONTHS (with real paper and pen) before reaching for others: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f312sDwg770&list=PLqR-aNpyEIVd91GCwsyOS3oRn6eoRhyio&index=1

yeah you can get gud by just copying stuff. but I can tell you absolutely need to get a better brush. I'd recommend a pencil type brush so you can sketch and do basic shading in one. I colored this all in one day for Tada Riina's birthday, feels pretty decent for a rush job. I've never done the face in mostly shadow like this before. The streaks caused by coloring skin in alcohol markers continues to vex me, but it came out marginally better than I feared.
But I just don't know how to color an open mouth! It never comes out right when I do, so I just skipped it this time.

- airbrush for ""values""

I had an interesting dud today. I wanted to push the pose a little so I deepened the bend at the torso compared to the ref and it looked waaaay off. It took pacing around a little to realize it's because I didn't change any other aspect of the pose so really all I did was liquify tool a dent in her torso. of course there's more wrong but I just found this one interesting. Educational blunder.

depends on the program, but it's probably best to find some decent ones yourself. the whatever the highest rated basic allround brush set is, is probably your best starting point to look for and usually have all the brushes you need until you know what the fuck you are actually doing by yourself. If I had to start over again i would unironically delete all default brushes and just draw with one good brush pack for my first year.

Okay, so what do I do? Nothing? I can't focus, I can't grind, I can't study. I can only ever self-motivate by externalizing any rewards and said reward is drawing what I want to draw, but then I never get any better.

1 hour? you barely draw. no wonder you dont improve. try drawing for 3-4 hours for once. the stuff is allowed to be worse quality, just try to get in the flow of doing stuff. what you lack is simply drawing mileage of any sort. its also visible in your lines they seem stiff.

You’re a good boy, but that’s just the first step. If you want to be a REALLY good boy, you need to draw a full sketch working off your construction skeleton. I have both ADHD (and a heavy one) and GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). Because of the nature of those conditions, the meds for them are almost opposites (or at least, ADHD meds will boost anxiety). Since GAD is nasty, taking meds for it is my choice, and my life changed since then. ADHD meds can give more anxiety, so I decided to let it run free.

And why does this matter? Well, I draw. I have been studying and progressing well every day, including line exercises and warm-ups. ADHD is annoying, but it is by no means something to stop anyone from learning and improving. GAD, on the other hand, destroys my will to do anything.

I have no idea what this hatkid has. But assuming he is not a troll, his ADHD excuse makes no sense. Either he has something worse, or he is retarded.

Anyway, here is more skull study. You know what the external reward is? None. I push through the boredom because that is the only way to reach my goals. I want to draw anime comics, but here I'm doing boring studies of real skulls and anatomy first because it is necessary and gives me the foundation I need.

Thanks for reading my blog and fuck the nodraws.

Not only does ADHD affect people differently, this completely ignores everything bad that ADHD does to affect motivation.
I have autism, ADHD and a learning disability. My problem is that I cannot motivate myself to do anything even on meds and I've been medicated for both anxiety and ADHD for my entire life. My ADHD is so severe that I can't self motivate. That's the problem you're ignoring.

Currently I'm on anti anxiety meds and still nothing. In fact they only kill my motivation.

I see artists fall into two modes: the ones that doodle, experiment and iterate quickly not getting too hung up on any particular piece, and the ones that can spend many hours on a single piece until it perfectly matches their vision (to the best of their current ability)
as someone that tends to the second, I think being able to switch modes can be helpful, each one has pros and cons

Got a diaplay tablet to start drawing and have been doing a few different types of images before I start applying myself so that I can have pics to look back on and compare my progress with, but I have run in to two questions.

The first is what's the best place for non-AI garbage imagery because apparently putting "PHOTOGRAPH" into Google doesn't mean shit and I'm not about to use jeet slop as my fucking references.

The second is whether or not using a tablet for drawing execises and grinding and learning the fundamentals is going to hurt my progress somehow, compared to pencil and paper.

Thanks for any advice you lads have.

your brush is too big, and it feels like you're fighting the canvas more than you're drawing. Clamp the values to find the shapes, and try to see through the forms it doesn't have to be perfect. Start with a rough sketch first, and don't be afraid to erase. If it were me, I'd make different versions of the image to explore shapes that read as 3d while still experimenting. Try using a 1px brush and the lasso tool for shading and blocking in values. Good job keep going.

and they're not wrong, brushwork is really important. But that's a whole different subject, so I suggested focusing on what's more important first, which is shapes.

>what do you mean by "clamp the values"
Basically, limit the value range. You're already doing that with this exercise, but what I meant is to use a filter because, at first, it's hard to find the shapes on your own. You can use a threshold filter for this.
