What's the point of discussing order when 98% of /ic/ won't make it past the first 2?
Is there something like krenz for gaijin that don't want to learn Chinese for 10 years?
Asked in the book general but got nothing, and to some extent I expected that because I sorta doubted there'd be a dedicated book on the subject matter. Is there a really good preferably very comprehensive course for shape design specifically? I'm running into a gap with producing, intentionally, really pleasing shapes rather than just shapes that are serviceable for their role.
the secret chinese knowledge of ripping off tomfox
>>8022026Is “shape design” yet another /ic/‘s nonsense like “appeal”? I thought “appeal” was a well-known concept, until I learned it’s not. I was so embarrassed.
>>8022074Is it? Maybe? I'm not attempting to follow something I picked up on /ic/, I just don't know what else you would call what I'm referring to because any sort of "pleasing shapes" or something to that effect just gives you back mid tier abstract art stuff about arranging 2D primitives in a composition. It seems to me (could be dunning-krugering) a lot of artists use shapes in functional roles, they draw good shapes but in service to the picture and then what makes the picture great is rendering and color and other stuff. Like an 99/100 drawing where 15 is shape and 84 is from other stuff. But there are artists where the first thing that leaps out in shape, and the rest is subdued and in service to elevate a drawing that is already great without the other stuff.Like pic related (I've removed the color and surrounding composition, and balanced the values to scrub it down so that line and shape are largely what is left). It is a nice looking picture simply for the fact that somehow triangles are being drawn in an aesthetically pleasing way and If there is an in depth explanation from someone on what thoughts go into making a triangle or an oval or a series of cylinders look great just as they are. There is some of this out there, but it's extremely piecemeal in a way that is unhelpful, because it's usually like a brief comment in a course or book or what have you that is otherwise just about figure drawing or another broader subject or "I dunno, do studies of someone with good shapes I guess".

I was checking old threads, and there was even Krenz Composition. Unfortunately the link is down. This is getting ridiculous.
There's a recent-ish torrent (2 months old) that has Krenz, and Tenten, and others' courses.magnet:?xt=urn:btih:f42524fc513104565afc7f99bda1df3a321d6ace&dn=%E8%AF%BE%E7%A8%8B&tr=udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80&tr=udp://tracker.opentrackr.org:1337/announceBut it's dead. If you're confused why such a young torrent is already dead, it's because chinese mainlanders are bastards. They just leech and disappear afterwards. If you've made any torrent and shared it on 4chan or elsewhere, you know what I'm talking about. It's not so bad for more generic torrent in English because there are a bunch of high moral whites that will seed it. But torrents made specifically for mainlanders like this don't tend to stay alive for long. People blame chinese AI slop companies, but I think the average mainlanders are just that selfish. And non-Chinese people who didn't know this would just stop seeding because they think they have seeded terabytes, there must be enough people seeding it now. Not knowing the evil nature of the chinese.
where is krenz 0 kindergarten or whatever it's called

>>8023682C'mon do it, you already uncarelessly used your phone number unlike me!
>>8023514>But torrents made specifically for mainlanders like this don't tend to stay alive for longThe reason is that those bastards use PikPak, a cloud service that caches a large number of torrent files uploaded to the internet, this means that even if a torrent has no seeds or seeders, you may still be able to download the file through PikPak.However, there are limitations: you need to pay for a membership to download larger files, and the free version only allows you to download up to six files, with a maximum size of 6 GB each. After that, a subscription is required.

Who started the Krenz meme? I googled him and couldn't find a reason why you guys keep recommending him for anime-style. His artworks are not even that anime, it's that painterly-anime style. Looks more like what the chinese mainlanders or gaijins are doing. I wouldn't see his artworks and guess he's a Japanese illustrator. Was he a famous pro? I can learn anything and would be happy to have any of your suggestions SENPAI DESU THANKS
>>8022579>>8025613great work and titties, anon
>>8026877Yeah, I also want someone at high level explain things while they draw. Think Baduk Doctor commenting while playing and reviewing matches.I mean, imagine if 58mw drew while giving commentaries. Btw 58mw deleted/hid all of his livestreams. Waste of time expecting anything from this mentally unstable asians. Fucking asian jeans.Unfortunately the ones who teach aren’t as good. Like chommang, mmmmonexx, hide, etc.
>>8027031How do you feel about that Marc Brunnet guy on YouTube? I like his personality and he seems cool, but lately his videos seem to be rehashing old subjects, like he's just creating content because he has to.Like I know it's asking a lot, but it'd be cool if someone with great artistic skill were to draw for like 20 minutes, explain what they're doing, and do that everyday, and of course be drawing exactly the things I want to draw.Obviously that's too much, but you get the point of the ideal I'm looking for.
Nothing about anime-style backgrounds? Like for VN?
>>8022071>ripping off tomfoxTomfoxdraws said that he's heavily inspired by Kim Jung Gi, so it goes back to Asia, just a different country.
>>8027921Is this even an isolated subject? Old anime used more elaborate traditionally painted backgrounds, new anime and most VNs just use the simpler regular anime approach to coloring and linework, but drawing buildings and trees instead of waifus. What would such a course even teach you? To use cell shadows instead of more traditional shading and what kind of colors to pick?Feels like anything an "anime-style BG course" would tell you is just something already covered in any regular anime-style course about characters, except for background specific things (types of perspective and lighting, how to deal with foliage, etc) that you could likely get in better detail and explanation from some course on traditional (western) painting. Most anime BGs are really simple and the ones that are stand out tend to be the ones that just lean away from the simplification and towards just being regular painted/watercolor/concept art landscapes or scenes.tl;dr watch regular landscape/environmental painting stuff, use anime lines and color palettes.
>>8028797wat
>>8028808Anon (you?) asked about courses on anime-style backgrounds, but anime-style backgrounds are just regular painted/drawn backgrounds with the same approaches to stylization/simplification that are applied to anime characters applied to environmental objects instead. Like being flat/cell-shaded, or fully lined.e.g. an anime classroom is just painting a normal classroom, but with the lineart heavy approach of anime, and the colors/saturation typical to anime (the same ones that are happening to anime characters)The higher quality that anime BGs tend to be, the more they are just regular landscape painting, not even particularly "anime" outside of the character stylization. So in my opinion, anon (or you or whatever) would be better off just doing a regular high quality anime course like any of the popular ones, and then watching videos or courses on the techniques used in normal landscape painting than looking for a thing that is specifically, isolated "how 2 draw animeVN backgroundz" which would likely just tell you stuff that was in the general anime courses and (some) stuff that was in the regular landscape painting.$0.02, etc.
