VERY good collage
>>8022765One day you will. It's mostly a game of roulette.
How do I get myself to draw more challenging stuff? I have a hard time reading books so that's not really an option
>>8022770look at art from an artist you really like and try to incorporate some aspect of their art in your next work

I am using a sharpener. But the pencil never gets sharp, the tip is always a garbage-thick thing. Does that mean the quality of the pen is garbage? Or the sharpener? It is a B one, but the same happened to an HB.
>>8022850>albrecht durerLiterally who, LMAO. /beg/int/ anons, here is an art of this pathetic old man as a thread challenge. Let's murder him with our MUCH SUPERIOR art. As if a retard from medieval times who didn't know anime could draw as good as us, ROFL.
>>8022852If you want the sharpest tip of the pencil point you have to practice rotating your pencil. It's a good habit to work on now to develop the practice of constantly stopping and examining your work and thinking about what you've done and want to do next. Of course Just using a mechanical pencil might be enough >>8022858Based drawer combo-breaking the guy getting baited
>>8022864It is a pencil sharpener, not a blade. So it is already rotating.
Didn't quite read. Yeah many sharpeners are shit, I've heard people claim old handcrank elementary school sharpeners are the best if you can find them. In any case tip control isn't something people really talk about with pencil, but it is useful to get a feel for it
>>8022852youre supposed to use a knife to sharpen your pencils, sharpeners are for kids at school and office clerks
Does she look cute?
help me with this pose guys please
>>8022874Only of you promise to show it once it's finished. I'm still waiting on that big throne dude drawing

Need to work on my proportions
Kinda losing my mind here, when Loomis and hide draw the perpendicular axes around a sphere the major axes of the resulting ellipses are always perpendicular (like, perpendicular as flat lines on your paper), but I'm rotating this 3D model around in Blender and the ellipse axes are clearly not perpendicular. In fact I can't find any possible rotation + camera angle that makes them perpendicular once you leave simple straight on views. Does anyone know where the discrepancy is coming from?Model is https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/loomis-head-study-with-a-neck-3b7c75bc122943959f0d61abac11c413 but I don't think the model is wrong, I've checked all the other Loomis head models on Sketchfab and they all show the same thing. Feel like I'm gonna have to get a clear plastic sphere irl and wrap rubber bands around it
>>8022957Loomis for reference, notice that no matter how he tilts the ball the ellipse axes are still perfectly perpendicular
>>8022805kek, these nerds want transhumanism so bad
>>8022957I'm not sure if I understood your question. Can you bring the hide/loomis examples?
>>8022962I posted the Loomis example, here's a hide example too at a more extreme angle. Both of them say "draw a circle, draw a straight line down the middle and a straight line across the middle, those are your ellipse axes. Draw the ellipses. Bam, you have perpendicular ellipses going around the circle". i.e. the axes of both ellipses are perpendicular. But when I rotate the 3D model, especially at more extreme angles, the ellipse axes are not perpendicular.
permabeg euthanasia is the ethical position
permabeg revolt and int genocide is my motive for existing
Loomis is the key to this
>>8022975Now draw the 3d guidelines
>>8022977Cause he's a funnier character than we've ever had before
I tend to draw gigantic boobs on every girl I draw, but I had a revelation recently. I started rewatching Highschool of the Dead for the first time in years. I loved this anime when I was younger, so I thought it'd be worth a revisit. Thing is, I remember all the girls in it having massive, bigger-than-their-head boobs. But when I quickly realized... that's not the case. Look at this: https://files.catbox.moe/uuoq29.jpg(Posting catbox link to not take away from the image limit) Compared to the gigantic boobs of the coom art of today, Saeko's boobs look kind of small (even though they are big by irl standards). It's sort of like boobs have undergone a "powercreep" over the years, or "boobcreep." But my point is this: Saeko, and all the HoTD girls, are still sexy as hell. And they do it without having gigantic breasts. And it's making me re-evaluate how I draw female bodies... I feel like I want to RETVRN to tradition.
>>8022986return to fertility goddess then
>>8022986I'm glad you understand anonymous
What should I be looking for when I do 1 minute gesture drawings? Like 60 in an hour type stuff. I'm very much going through the motions and probably should be correcting or adjusting how I do stuff?
>>8022967The straight line dead on the center is the axis of the sphere (in the hide/loomis). A sphere has an infinite amount of ellipses in all directions. For the formed ellipses for the eyes, think about their plane. The minor goes to the vanishing point, the major is a 90 from the minor on the center of the ellipse. That said, if you are viewing the head from an up/down perspective, it is 3 point and the true 90 will be distorted because the verticals also converge. Still, I am not sure what might be confusing you here, given your query:>but I'm rotating this 3D model around in Blender and the ellipse axes are clearly not perpendicular. In fact I can't find any possible rotation + camera angle that makes them perpendicular once you leave simple straight on views
>>8022928Thanks, I love your art so it means a lot
>>8022797so, where is Gardevoir?
>>8022989timed gesture drawings are a /beg/ trapdon't do them unless you are already mid /int/
>>8022989if you're not getting much out of them, try 2 minute ones, focusing on proportion and formhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWApNvDTynM
>>8022989
>>8022975Ok let me put it this way. Which ellipse is the correct way of drawing the perpendicular axis through the marked point, the red one or the purple one? The red one is what you get if you do the Loomis/hide way of making both ellipse axes perpendicular, purple is what the 3D model is saying. Everything here except the red ellipse was traced from https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/sphere-01-ad7a22ab242c4714962b1d284796effdWhat I'm saying is that the ellipses clearly tilt in a way that Loomis doesn't tell you how to account for, he just says "draw an X through the circle" but that clearly gives you the wrong ellipses. The red and the purple ellipse here are different shapes, they can't both be correct.
>>8022989You should focus on attaining efficiency and making sure you are correctly describing the torso.
>>8022957wth man, you're supposed to connect the centers of the green ellipses. getting the major and minor of ellipses always has been some kind of guess game...
>>8022995gardevoir is overrated
>>8022999you're thinking it the wrong way, your setup is underconstrainedfirst determine what tilt the head should be (the three orthogonal axes that go top, front and right), then figure out their ellipsesthe straight vertical is a simplification to keep things managable for faily straight on views

>>8023041just keep drawing, lil guppyyou're nowhere near the level to be asking such questions
>>8023041isn't style supposed to be something you develop overtime while learning your fundamentals?, of course you can hybrid it earlier if you take different styles and merge them together... a potential problem is think/sayi "it's my style" to cover up mistakes and misunderstanding lakes on your knowledge, or actually believing that it's your style which is even worse...
