Daily hopefuel: most people do not progressively get better at things until they die. Most pros and advanced artists, outside of exceptional ones like KJG, Frank Frazetta, Takehiko Inoue, etc., will typically stagnate at about 10-15 years of experience (ESPECIALLY social media and NSFW ones).

When people see the uppermost echelon of any skill, they see those people started young. But they also assume that it means everybody who started young is hovering around god-tier skill levels, just out of sight. This far from the truth. if you start learning how to draw at 25 and keep at it, you and 90% of people that started learning how to draw at 15 will be on the same level at 35/40.

Yes. I look at my path with chill and patience. I know I'll get as good as the high /int/s I admire. I'm at it for almost 2 years and I am at the very least approaching high /beg/. I got worse than I was at my peak, but I did develop a certain style. It's a long way, still. But in the grand scheme of things ~2 years is nothing and neither is 2 more years. If it takes 6 years to get to /int/, I'll be able to bask in the success for many years to come. 10 more years and I am /adv/.

I'll die a master. A life well lived.

I think that a lot of artists who started young don't have a learning relationship with drawing. They got good before they understood how then settled into a comfort zone and their growth stagnates.

If you start late and art is a thing that you primarily study, you can easily surpass some early starters when you get to their level.

What's the proper technique to do smooth looking shading / coloring digitally, especially on skin?
Intuitively I make one layer do one pass with the main color, then do another pass for the highlights, then the shadows. Then use the smudge tool to soften.
What irritates me is it's all destructive. I'm using krita for what it's worth but I also have a CSP

How much time is spent end-to-end: requirements gathering, planning/drafting, rework, and final delivery?
How much do you make per hour?

If people want a commission, it’s for multiple reasons:
They are antiAI.
They don’t know how to prompt, or don’t want to waste time doing it.
They know what they want, but don’t have the knowledge or skills to make it visually appealing.
They need rights over the final product.
etc

As time progresses, I think talking to the client and figuring out exactly what they want is going to become the most valuable part. You’re going to be the person who can easily understand the client’s desires while also having the knowledge to translate those desires into something appealing and fresh.
This isn’t really a matter of AI, the medium, or whatever tool is being used. It’s about the fundamentals: composition, gesture, and value.
>>

Same. Breaking into commisonons seems downright impossible with how saturated the market is, how the cards are against you since your most likely not east asian, and yeah...obviously AI.
>>
>>8035453
>How do I make the form more felt?
You can't, it wasn't felt by you, but ignore this for now and proceed with the plan
>>

So, I have two questions.

1: How do you guys come up with intricate mechanical designs for your mechs, vehicles and robots? I know that over-detailing is not the answer, and coming up with designs for joints and gizmos is very time consuming and takes a fair bit of trial and error for me. Have you guys seen any videos or read anything on the topic that helped?

2: Completely unrelated, but is there a market for designing characters for people? I'm not talking about working for a company or anything, obviously, it's just that designing is one of the things I like doing the most so I wonder if anyone out there does commissions for character designing or something like it.

I have a friend who wants to get into comic book drawing. He's been drawing most of his life (he's 35) and is recently unemployed and wants to get better and I just think his approach to art and improving is all wrong.

He seems to think getting better at art is like grinding exp - right now he's challenging himself to draw every pokemon, so one pokemon a day, that he constantly sends me. I tell him to try shading, try drawing something in addition to the pokemon (like a flame, leaf, blades of grass, clouds, etc. anything that would require him to attempt from scratch and not have a frame of reference), and he just says he will get there.

When he talks about drawing, he seems to think that he is a good artist and that he just needs to practice - he talks about the work that he will be doing in a couple of years but I just don't see it. I'm not really an artist myself, but sometimes you either have it or you don't, and he really doesn't. He's been getting back into this for about 2 years now, and I don't just see much progress, at least not beyond like a child's level who just started. I also think that he needs to focus on digital mediums if he wants to seriously get paid for this or have any sort of career with it.

How can I convince him to get better without being an asshole? He needs to either be in school or taking classes if he wants to take it seriously in my opinion.

If, tomorrow, I tell the thread that, like, a permabeg will mog them, or a threadload of nodraws mog them, nobody panics, because it's all 'part of the plan'. the cleavage bit is something I decided to ask spontaneously. the arrows point to areas where my blending doesn't match that of the ref, which is my original issue. see how my strokes overlap? I'm using a pressure opacity brush, which I assume the guy who drew the ref also used, because I see areas where there are soft changes in value
>try to make a new layer (Normal or Dodge) and try going over the boobs with a soft brush using a something like skin tone
yeah that sort of worked, I also clipped the above layer to lineart to stay within the lines and picked a reddish color instead of the skin tone

Great question. I’d suggest omitting intricate designs and instead learning from life. There are two questions I keep asking myself when looking at machinery/solutions, both in art and in work:
How does this work?
What problem are they trying to solve?
The first keeps me grounded and gives me a blueprint, the second gives me room to be creative.

Learning how things work also helps the creative process by exposing me to ideas from different industries and disciplines. I keep cards of interesting things I learn every day, and when I’m trying to create something, I go through them.

For example, I have this card from years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMQbHMgK2rw

It helped me understand how that little car works. But from other racing experience, I know that grip, heat, and airflow are the problems that drive the design. So I keep the idea: What if an F1 car had a vacuum? Is it realistic? Does it make sense? Barely enough. Does it look cool? Yes.

So, in short, I’d focus on widening your knowledge across different fields agriculture, factories, embroidery, etc. There’s plenty of media covering this now: Discovery Channel, YouTube, podcasts, etc.

One I particularly like is No Such Thing as a Fish. A lot of ideas I’ve come up with came from things I learned there. For example, I learned that ostrich feathers are still used as dust collectors, so why not a roomba with feathers or feathers as part of the design?

would like to answer, but I can't design. What I do is primarily governed by mechanics/anatomy in the form of / decorated by semi-unconscious bits I assume I acquired through exposure.
So probable answer is to look at interesting stuff, or to speed up the process, copy the interesting things you see.

like the other guy said, beyond some basic logic bits, like functioning joints and somewhat believable weight distribution, mecha design is more aesthetics than functionality. if you look at mechas from the goats like makoto kobayashi or kow yokoyama a lot of these would be extremely immobile irl or have other gnawing issues, yet are still considered top-notch designs by customer consumption. just copy from other mech artists and add functionality where you understand it. adding more realistic functionality wont harm you, but its not necessarily needed. most mecha are ultimately bits of fantasy for one reason or another.
>>
>>8035624
I think being more curious might be the key for me then, judging by what you're saying. I'm realizing I really know just about nothing in terms of mechanical principles as I draw these robots and mechanical bits lately. I'll check out that No Such Thing as a Fish you mentioned. Huge thanks.

you have too many cables and axles in the joint area imo, in your last mech as well as here too. joints work because theres no shit restricting it. whatever flows should end before and continue after the joint. your joint areas look like 90 degree locked angles because of it.

This is a striking close-up shot of a golden eagle perched on a falconer's gloved fist, feeding on prey.

The eagle has its wings mantled (spread and drooped down on either side), a defensive posture birds of prey often adopt while eating to shield their food from other predators or scavengers. Its beak is open, likely mid-call or mid-bite, showing the hooked tip and the pinkish interior of its mouth. The plumage shows the classic golden eagle coloring — dark brown body feathers with golden-tawny highlights around the head, nape, and wing edges, which is where the species gets its name.

The bird's talons grip a thick leather falconry glove, and there's a scrap of prey (looks like a small bird or piece of meat) visible between its feet. A jess (the leather strap used in falconry to tether the bird) is visible on one leg. The person's arm and part of a hoodie sleeve are visible at the bottom edge of the frame.

The background is a soft, blurred neutral brown/tan, which keeps all the visual focus on the eagle's intense expression and detailed feathers — the shallow depth of field is a classic technique for wildlife/falconry portraiture.

This kind of image is typical of falconry demonstrations, raptor rehabilitation programs, or wildlife photography sessions where trained birds of prey are shown up close.

For the first time in my life and only for like 20 seconds, I began feeling the form. It was euphoric, better than sex. Looking back at the figs, I can't even tell why I got that sensation; they look as shit as they were last week. Maybe its a mindset thing?
Anyways, drawing proportionally is still my weakness. Is there a way to solve that besides doing more figures? I set little landmarks on the canvas but I always end up missing them.

>>8035782
Try doing it in grayscale first
>>8035760
Shouldve trusted your other head I guess. Slightly unrelated question, but do you have any tips for drawing more erotic figures? Everything you draw is laden with sensuality, like they were built for getting fucked (even your bbw shit). Mine always turn out so sexless, even copies of porn scenes.

too much symbol drawing, you need to work on the underlying structure of the figure. face is more or less a frontal view, torso starts frontal then goes 3/4 then goes side view, then the legs are straight up in a side view and looks more like it's attached to the dress rather than the hips
if you're trying to show the character rotating, note that the shoulders can't twist so much as to be perpendicular to the hips like that. for example, if you keep that direction for the upper torso the legs should be at maximum on a 45° angle to the shoulders
the arms are too short too. they're supposed to reach around the middle point of the upper leg when relaxed

Not to discourage you, as I think you're making progress, but I think you specifically should do more "finished" studies or copies.
I think the main problem you seem to always have is unintentionally making the proportions too short or long or your neck to head area slightly misplaced. These sort of things will sort themselves out if you take the time to hone your accuracy more instead of trying to go for pure volume like you usually do.

The textbook definition of symbol drawing is not copying correctly.
>>
It is substituting an object, or details of an object you are supposed to copy, with a preexisting mental model. Because an anime girl is not a side-by-side replica, but rather a realization of intent using preexisting mental models, calling it symbol drawing is redundant.

Dodson's argument is that because a mental model could never have the richness and detail of the real thing, it's inherently inferior to a copy. But being simplified, a.k.a. stylized, is the point of an anime girl, so Dodson could suck a dick.

Well um thank you
I think it stems from the fact that you're stuck on the 2d copying jew. You should spot forms in the reference and portray them confidently rather than trying to retrace arbitrary lines. The forms should turn into each other like pic rel. It's more important that the volumes relate to other volumes on the drawing rather than they look exactly like the ones on the reference which no one will ever see.
Also chicken scratched outlines just won't look sexy imo

Your underdrawing and linework are really nice but I don't think your value structure and rendering are up to the same same standard.
Compositionally you set yourself up really well for a bright overhead light above the main characters but you didn't stick to that with your value structure.
You should see the value structure as a compositional tool as well as a tool to show lighting logic.
I assume your focal points are supposed to be the two characters faces and the ring but they have the same brightness and contrast as everything else so they don't draw the attention that they should.
In my opinion, with this lighting setup everything else should be at least 1 or 2 shades darker than your focal points so that you are really drawing attention where you want it to be.
As for the shading, it looks like you are using an airbrush to shade and you aren't paying attention to the forms and how that affects the value and sharpness of the shadows.
You should be using shadows to describe the form.
Cast shadows and shadows from abrupt form changes should have sharper edges, deep shadows with no reflected light should be much darker, light should fall of significantly as the planes start to face away from the light.

Thank you so much for the analysis. You're correct that my original idea was to do a harsh castlight from above, but I ended up not liking how it looked so I sort of nuked the colors and desaturated everything but the 2 characters to (badly) cheat the look.

I lack a lot of values knowledge, it's probably my biggest weakness right now, so it's something I really gotta fix. I need to start forcing myself to use nothing but hard brushes for shading to get better understandings of shadow forms.

Is there a reason for it? I don't have any other paper. I'm poor. I'm actually doing palimpsest on old notebooks to be able to draw.

Like the other anon said, stop drawing on lined paper.

These are pretty good. You have a good grasp of 3d forms but a poor grasp of line confidence and mark making. Do some line drawing warmups and remember to always draw from the shoulder. Get better at making marks and drawing forms without having to repeat them. Also draw from life
>>
>>8036259
The reason is that it doesn’t look good and that you can’t see what you’re drawing as clearly. I guarantee you can go into the nearest Pharmacy, UPS, or store and ask for some paper and someone will gladly give you some free of charge. It’s literally everywhere.

I was watching one of recorded Murata's livestream, and it was the first time I saw him do many fixes in drawing. The thing is, it was in the ink phase. It has many passes of ink, then some type of liquid paper, then ink again, in the same location. I imagine what type of liquid paper it might be... And I am also impressed by how much the paper can suck and still look clean.

For those who have done figure drawing, what do you start with as a timer? The site I checked out defaults to 30s, which is way too fast for me to do anything more than a stick figure. Even at 60s, I generally cannot finish in time if I'm just trying to do a rough outline of the figure. I'm not entirely certain what the point of these exercises are, I just have this vague notion that I'm supposed to do them to learn how to draw people to help with proportionality, and I should start by finding a line of action. So I don't know if I give myself too much time if I'm defeating the point of the exercise, or if I should be slowing down to start off and let the speed come with time, or just grind through until I can do it quickly or what.

I guess I'm just looking for more context on what this exercise is supposed to do so I can figure (heh) out where I should slot it into my learning process, and how to go about doing it.
>>
Time limited figure drawing is some kind of goofy ass way to force a beg to think about what's happening and to problem solve but the creators of the exercise intended it for bright academia students not the margin of society lost causes of internet art spaces

I think time limits are good but you still have to apply them to the right types of exercises, and check the accuracy of your work afterwards. If you put a time limit on random scribbling then you still won't improve, even though you're scribbling faster now. If you're not continuously improving and drawing increasingly more accurate drawings within the time limit then something's wrong and you need to reevaluate how you're practicing

im a bbw lover myself so you must be doing something wrong if this doesn't appeal 2 me. There isn't any obvious anatomical errors (which is rare in this field). The pose isn't working for me. With bbws you either go for clearly encumbered or reality defying poses but this isn't really doing either + fat person body language is a real thing even ignoring physics. Hate to use this words since crabs always rape me with it but it is stiff. The pose implies some kind of forward motion but the clothes aren't swaying in the wind and neither is his hair. Both his hands and face are relaxed when a lot of the gesture is actually in the hands and face, so that's another thing working against it. Also the pose just suffers from lack of readability because of the tucked away leg. The pec window doesn't curve on his body correctly (making features wrap around the fat folds is basically the whole game). The palette is not very good, has no temperature identity and the background is just a miss. His moobs are a weird blend between breasts and pecs. his left bicep is just... whats going on there. His right hand looks like yours was trembling while lineart it. Anyway what's with this strange pixel brush you picked? It just screams bitmap or ms dos the way you handled it. The moobs should probably have some cast shadow instead of just ending abruptly. No cast shadow on the face either. His skirt is a really weird blend of skin tight and stiff.

Idk just nitpicked everything I could think of probably in the end comes down to lack of character in the pose and pretty unstylish lineart. I dont think any of this matters in the end though since you got paid and you probly dont gaf about fatties anyway.
>>
>>8036809
Looks better. Maybe emphasize more how the obliques lie on the iliac crest instead of doing these very smooth sides.
>>
>>8036828
alr, i can do that. most obvious correction is to copy the front curve on its (!) right side tracks onto the left side tracks. the curvature on the track ends is difficult to get right, but if the curve is the same on both sides it usually looks fine enough. right now it looks wobbly because theyre not the same.

other than that maybe it seems a bit elongated and the tracks a little long, but it may also be that im not familiar enough with the ft-17 and its ok. i wouldnt redo that part as the image is too progressed and just go on with details after correcting above error.
>>
>>8036833
oh that makes sense, tnx!
also for ft-17's the tracks are just a bit forward of the chassis and close to the end of it. but i may have elongated it all a bit too much, oops

Currently learning to do value studies. I like to make a posterized version of the reference as well as a high contrast version. Is there any way that to proceed from this posterized stage to studying the original that makes sense? (meaning values and exluding shapes/proportions as that is separate from the question) Or is this as far as I reasonably push this version of the study, method wise, and I then begin a separate study of the original?

keep coping. comparison is the thief of joy or w/e.
only compare yourself to your past you. have you improved? what do you still struggle with? answer those questions, draw stuff somewhat out of your comfort zone, and you'll improve naturally.
imagine if you put the effort you spend lamenting into actually drawing something. even if it looks shit, you can feel accomplished in knowing you've progressed your skills, even only a small amount. you don't need patreonbux or attention on your art to feel that.
also, people just progress at different rates. don't beat yourself up about it, some people will naturally improve faster than you will. but if you put the work in, you'll always end up where you want to be. might just take longer.
go and draw, stop coping. you aren't worthless, you're just learning.

I actually care a fair deal. It’s one of my favorite pieces of subject matter, so this feedback is especially valuable!

I’m kind of weak at posing, drapery and lineart so that’s part of why I was excited for this opportunity - to experiment with weak points while being compensated.

Admittedly a little shocked about the lighting and colors, I thought I executed reasonably well. Either way, I’ll continue practicing.

Thank you again for the feedback, it means a lot!

to answer your questions:
> I like to make a posterized version of the reference as well as a high contrast version
I think this is a decent way to learn how to abstract value groups, eventually you will want to try without posterization so that it doesn't become a crutch.
>Is there any way that to proceed from this posterized stage to studying the original that makes sense
Yes you just have to understand what posterization is abstracting out (subtle value and plane changes), observe and add them back in.
>Or is this as far as I reasonably push this version of the study, method wise, and I then begin a separate study of the original
It is a common process used by many painters to start with just 3-4 values and then gradually expand them as the painting proceeds, which is essentially what you are practicing by starting with posterization. I think it is a pretty flexible process that allows for adjustment when you spot mistakes. The main challenge is finding a balance between trusting your original value block ins and constantly adjusting shapes and values as you see mistakes.

Every time I watch Vilppu, I feel like I'm learning something new. Some things that I didn't pay attention to, some reminders about the meaning of elements he uses, understanding what he means once I apply the knowledge and slowly organise the information in my head. And I'm only on the 2nd video + chapter from the book about spherical forms.

I think I would be improving at light speed from this course if I was drawing consistently instead of in week-long bursts every 3 months. It's great.

Guys, huge thing I just learned, might be useful for you all. Turns out, perspective affects EVERYTHING. Yep. Even houses or people. It is hard to believe, but it is not just boxes in the void that are affected by the damn vanishing points. Crazy world we live in.
>>
>>8037267
yep, you can always create a bounding box for everything, which will make it more obvious

>I really know just about nothing in terms of mechanical principles
Just keep it to the rough idea of how and why; don't go too deep, or it starts poisoning your creativity. For example, I don't know much about air muscles, so I just searched why air muscles are used. I found out they're good where there's electromagnetic interference, and that's just enough for me. It would be cool to have a powerful railgun calibrated by air muscles, It sounds cool.

just wondering, cause i do plan on doing a lot of it the hard way. but looking at a lot of it online, how much of hardsurface/vehicle perspective work is done by tracing 3d models? im seeing a lot of people doing that online instead of trying to learn the perspective intuitively.
like saw someone online say that most people in industry would never do scott roberston how to draw type drawings purely by hand, and often do 3d renders they trace. is that true?
>>
>>8037400
In the industry- of course, it's consistent production on schedule, not fucking around. Does it mean you should skip it if this is your goal? I don't think so
>>
>>8037400
From the pros I've watched, they said they learned how to do it they hard way but don't actually use it for final pieces in the real world. Quick sketches just use your intuitive perspective skills. Short-medium pieces, just using a perspective grid is enough. Longer/final paces, mocking up a base 3d scene is much faster. Especially since there are deadlines and you need to be able to do quick revisions. Plus, it often has to fit into the 3D pipeline for other artists to work on. So they recommend learning it so you have the skills to be able to do properly by hand, but you are mostly just relying on your intuitive perspective skills most of the time. So you don't have to grind out 100s of hours of homework like they had to but mapping everything out properly once or twice is worth it for the learning experience and so you have the skills to troubleshoot if anything goes wrong.

and it got me thinking, if not copying directly from a reference, how do people generally handle odd shapes like the blades. like theyre flat, their own plane rotates and curves. it seems like it would be kinda difficult if you want to do it properly accurate, especially when you have to create multiple (like with fans) of said objects at different angles & stuff

>>
>>8037567
When you sketch, do you draw out the full bald head, or do you just sort of draw the face mask and then begin adding hair to cover up the rest?
If I had to make a wild guess and diagnose the reason for your stall, it would be procrastination. I see you hiding the hands and skipping the scalp. You've jumped ahead a few chapters, and I think the coloring and the background look good, but it's time to do the main quests you've been avoiding.
Tackling the things you are the worst at is the fastest way to improve. As going from bad to decent at something yields more progress with less effort than going from great to fantastic at something. Yes, you will feel retarded for a while drawing mutant heads, hands and feet or whatever, but that just means you're making good progress.

Anatomy and symbols are good enough for now. I think if you spent a month solely studying drapery, you would improve a lot. You have a hard time defining volume when it comes to fabric, and the gains from studying this will carry over to your figures and objects. The tail, wings, and hair in this have the same problem.

Study art you like. If you don't know where to start, the girls at clamp are incredibly good at drawing clothes.

>>8037592
The easy solution is to use ref. Now you have 3D models readily available. If you're doing it from imagination, you'll need knowledge of how things work. In this case, the blades need to fit inside a cylinder, and you should think of them as negative screws because they need to displace fluid. Volume moves volume. Once you fit the blades into a cylinder, you'll have a better sense of the shape they're going to have.
just use refs

I don't mean anything beyond that really, that sketch looks good.
Maybe it's not a problem with the scalp, maybe its just something about the hair that's making me feel like the head is kinda missing depth. Mainly for the angel character, but both to some extent. Something about where the bangs originate, the hair line, and where the hair parts.
Gif of what I sort of imagine, but I'm not super confident either.

Looking good, but you could make it a bit more visually clear that the back is cut out of the swimsuit, probably by following the line of her ass a bit better once it reaches her back. Backs curve in pretty far, so don't be afraid to have a little line/curve there to denote the back's end. As it is right now, it reads a bit like her waist is all in the swimsuit and comically snatched.

Much better! I'd maybe make the butt a bit bigger, the back definitely reads better, but it doesn't "line up" visually with the line of the butt as it is. If the butt is bigger/the line is pushes out a bit further, the implication that they meet behind her arm holds up way better.

Theres a subtle curve to the obliques(?) I cant capture. I think I should've gone thinner and a little smaller on the upper abs and elongated the pelvis, the erotic appeal of the original was nowhere near replicated.
The figures look about the same as usual. Pros have this fluidity with their lines, they can capture even the most difficult of positions with just a few strokes; for me everything is a fight, but it feels great even getting a shape semicorrect.

Or did you mean why there is no square shaped canvas behind? That is because PNG can store transparency so if you leave background trasparent it wont show up.
>>
>>8038275

well yeah not realistic but coomers literally draw skin with translucent tofu texture so specular lighting there isn't that far fetched

why are you getting rid of them when it looks better with outlines? Maybe try painting over the outlines instead of just disabling them, a thought.
>>
>>8038283
Not a style I am after.
>>
>>8038284
still painting over the lined drawing until the lines disappear seems like a better approach, or at least worth one try
Its like when you draw with guidelines, its usually gonna break when you disable the guidelines, because you made it look good with the guidelines visible, if you didnt want lines you shoulda probably sketches it without using outlines
It goes the other way too when you make your sketch too painterly and you ink it without using any shading its gonna looks so bad it will make you suicidal

I don't really practice what I preach; my own work tends to be very samey and/or cartoony, just with a better value range. But I'm aware of these peculiarities because I had a quite long 3DCG rendering/modeling phase. Something that, again, I myself tend to avoid, but believe is the best way to get a grip on things, is not asking me what I do but rather painting from observation(of reality).

the best way to do it is probably to edit pressure settings in whatever software your tablet has.
a dirty fix could probably be to set something like flow, opacity or size to 0 at a higher pressure start-point, basically overcompensating if your pen is a bit too sensitive, so that nothing gets painted until you put at least a little pressure, which vice versa means it will also stop painting faster.

idk, maybe. Personally I don't like the krita stabilizers, and I'm not really against line smoothing either, I just find them wonky compared to other programs, so I just use the basic one and I can't even tell what it does.

GUYS, I NEED HELP.
I would like to install CSP on Linux. I'm on Artix KDE OpenRC.
Can I use the script from minsiam with the pirated CSP version by Sakura (CSP EX 4.2)?
https://github.com/minsiam/csp-linux
https://nyaa.si/view/2054917
I would like to have some confirmation before proceeding.
From what I understand, I should only need to change the link in the script to the CSP_420w_setup.exe installer, and then start the script with the number 4 as stated in the readme. Anything else?

The top of the head implies she's facing down, but her face is flat as though she's facing forward. Either adjust the top of the head and hair, or adjust the perspective of the face.

Use Claude. Install the dependencies first, then install the project. If you run into errors, go back to Claude. If there are still errors, check the Issues page and paste them into Claude.

Thanks, I didn't think of that.
I tried the original and it didn't work, so I tried this one:
It threw an error at first but I could solve it with AI (I just had to install a bunch of Wine libraries and such), then it worked perfectly.
However, when I open the pirated CSP, it freezes on the loading screen. I imagine it's because it's pirated. I bet the normal version would work well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGk2MWoAepc
>>8038536
Yeah, I thought there would be more dependencies needed for that project, like Proton or Wine.
Honestly, if you really want to use CSP or any of that software, I would go with virtualization using QEMU. It's more work, but it's probably the most logical solution, and with the current state of Claude, most of the friction goes away.

Honestly, I prefer native solutions too. All the time I spend looking for workarounds is time I'm not spending drawing :(

I want to practice, but I feel so empty just practicing in the void. Maybe I should try to tackle a project (comic) and practice as I go/need to, relative to the content I am doing. This is one of my biggest NGMI issues; it seems all good artists have a ton of sketchbooks full of random drawings in the void.
