Why is this board so obsessed with natural talent for drawing? What's the point of obsessing over it? Do you even enjoy drawing at that point?
>>8059041Why don't you post your art if you're going to make a thread?
this is a coomer sadomasochistic board nigga
>single person spam>why the board is so obsessed
>>8059043Direct me to the sadomasochistic coom, please.
>>8059041isnt that the alvin and the chopmunks guy

>>8059041It's because they can blame someone else for their personally inflicted shortcomings. "This person has talent. They didn't have to work for it, this is effortless for them. Why should I put in so much effort when someone else can do it with none?"They think every person with talent didn't have to study like everyone else. Sure, they have an advantage, but they still have to put in time to gain skills. Someone with talent who sits on their ass and doesn't use it is the same as an untalented person who sits on their ass and doesnt try. It's actually more impressive to see someone without talent to study and get good. And many talented people hit plateaus very quickly, since they are so used to easily doing everything, when something hard comes up, they are not prepared and will usually stop. While the untalented person is used to challenges and will try his best to solve the issue.Have you ever seen someone who was good at art at 16 and received a lot of praise for it? They stagnate. The people who were not good at a young age and never received praise keep on working to get better and leave the talented people in the dust.
If you don't have natural talent then you literally can't enjoy drawing. Only people who are able to consistently enjoy drawing are those rare people who consistently produce quality works. And for this you need natural talent. Everyone else just gets frustrating chasing that talent.
>8059142This guy is single-handedly responsible for most of the talent spam.
>>8059041Most questions on here are like>Can I get good drawing 1 hour per week>I'm 45 can I become a pro mangaka>I just started can I replace my income with commissionsThe answer to all of these is "it depends on how talented you are." If you make a post about the enjoyment of drawing for the sake of it then yeah talent is sort of irrelevant. But nobody does that. It's always "how do I speed run kim jung gi as a genelet that didn't draw for 30 years"
Mutts hate talent because talent is racist. It doesn't fit into their worldview that someone can be superior simply because of their genes.
>>8059149i know a mexican that's most talented i have ever before in my life and the guy is uglier than willem dafoe lol
>>8059207Being talented doesn't mean you have to be a beauty queen. It's just an aspect of your personality.
>>8059148most people dont actually want to follow an art career/are not well informed about the risksthey just like the artist label desu. ive seen this case repeat itself thousands of times
>>8059148My concern is learning the wrong things, which is still cope and shouldn't be an excuse for not drawing, but it's a heavy plague when self teaching that every step might just fuck you seven further steps down the line because I didn't understand something properly. Definitely skill issue, but just one of those things given that art isn't really a field with a rigid, structured curriculum.
>>8059216>My concern is learning the wrong things, doesn't exists
Because it's hard and most of us are going it alone with an overly romanticized view of art. It's easy to miss the forest for the trees >>8059052Mr. Show fans on suicide watch.
>>8059216Everyone in my profession with this mentality sucks. The guys that are good never worry about doing the wrong thing or wasting time because you learn the most when you fuck up.
>>8059149>>8059209Then why mention raceThe most talented person I know does $500 sfw anime commissions and is a 5'1" guatemalan dude
>>8059378Because it proves that you are not just a product of your environment but also a product of your genes.Communists say that we are all equal. All people are the same. Unless you are poor of course. Then you are evil for Americans.
>>8059041It's best to know before you waste your time on this hobby
>>8059130yep. cheap excuse for laziness. plain and simple
You may not have "talent" in a particular medium, but there are plenty of new ones to explore. I've seen the artistic urge manifest, the profound need to say something to the world, a simple Hispanic man moved to stand in the empty fountain in the middle of Washington Square Park in NYC and with true bravery speak of the pains of the human soul. So does every artist, conjuring from within unique perspectives and tossing the results at the zeitgeist hoping your ideas stick and stay. But you pick up a pencil, stumble and get disheartened, and fail before even beginning. So one should think about what one wants to say and in what medium you want to say it with.
