I like some simplifications that don't alter the overall look of the character very much, like 学 (學), which is a simplification also done in Japanese. But I wouldn't mind studying the traditional forms if the simplifications had not been done.

Are you supposed to pronounce the u at end of sentences?For example, I've seen in tv shows and videos that です is pronounced as des rather than desu. I looked it up and some sources say des is usually more casual or feminine.
