What is the highest level of math you've studied in your country, and how did you do it? through uni, self study, something else?
>>
>>214401533
differential geometry

took a class in my univ. Occasionally review the stuff on YouTube videos just for fun
>>
>>214401575
tell us about wtf that is and why its important

also got through year 3 of compsci so discrete maths and analytic geometry
it was very hard and i paid a lot of money for it and ive forgotten most of it lol
>>
>>214401533
I self-studied graduate-level mathematics during my physics PhD studies.

high school, derivatives and integrals o algo.

Do these kind of kindle where u can write actually work or they have a lagging time of 30 seconds?
>>
>>214401599
It's not that important for me, but I learned it for fun, as I mentioned earlier.

It's a study about the shapes and curves of spaces. Important keywords are
>manifold, tangent space, vector fields, curvature

Probably linear algebra or some of the statistics courses I took, I tried to take the easiest stuff I could because I suck at math
>>
>graduate with math degree
>still a neet
300k starting any day now
>>
>>214401533
I took AP maths in Highschool so I am ahead of most students in my level. I'll be taking my first math 'theory' class next semester--Number Theory.
>>
>>214401533
Unironically Chatgpt helped me learn math a lot.
>>
>>214401533
Real analysis and topology were probably the two most difficult math classes I took in undergrad
Pity I use none of it in med school and beyond, I barely remember any of it
>>
>>214401533
Don't remember really, probably linear algebra? The hardest course I ever took was a statistics course, still have nightmares about that one.
>>
>>214401533
I'm studying a master's in engineering ccience. We study differential equations, linear algebra, control theory, MATLAB programming, signal processing, AI... It's really fun, and the teachers range from mid-level to wise. You could download all the books, bro, but some of them are really hard to study.
>>
>>214401533
multiplication tables in elementary school (i dropped out in middle school)
>>
>>214401533
idk i guess complex analysis, analytical continuation is the last thing ive remember but the only things ive actually used at work are basic numerical derivatives/integrals and geometry

9th grade.
Failed so hard I didn't even get grades.

Was diagnosed with Dyscalculia at age 22.
>>
Linear Algebra and Calculus II. I don't really like writing proofs so I tend to avoid advanced math.
>>
>>214403085
You were DIAGNOSED with being shit at maths? No wonder euros can't do shit anymore
>>
>>214403244
Yes. It's no different from being diagnosed with dyslexia except for numbers.
>>
>>214403387
Dyslexia is also a bullshit diagnosis desu
>>
>>214403408
So is cancer, downs syndrome, Alzheimers and death.

this nigga is comparing himself being shit at maths to being DEAD
>>

I thought we were just making retarded comments so I joined in.

Did physics bsc, which in my uni had us do 2 years in common w the math degree (friends in other unis never saw as much math or as dense/proof heavy).

Functional analysis was probably the more difficult one as it was extremely abstract and had a tsunami of definitions involved.
>>
>>214401533
I failed grade school math.
Then I failed summer school math.
After that I didn't get into high school so I never did math again.
>>
>>214401533
I've been taught some geometry, Linear algebra and statistics. It's quite impressive how those 3 interact and they are quite useful for geodesy. I think I should read more on ellipsoidal geometry. My knowledge is too surface level. Out of boredom I have began to read a book about group theory to strengthen my algebraic intuition but I can't find a direct use for my needs.
>>
>>214405066
how are you even alive
>>
calc 3 and abstract algebra
I did a mathematics BA as a double major because I had to do a lot of math with my CS degree anyway
