According to science, the Genji Monogatari was originally written in kana only. Do Japanese read the original version or are there, say, modern versions that incorporate kanji?
I tried to join one of those Japanese learner-English learner chatrooms and I forgot all of the vocab I had been studying and had to resort to N5 grammar to make basic points. All that time on Anki was a tremendous waste of time.
