I keep hearing about how the city is uglier than romanticized, and the whole "Paris syndrome" from tourists, particularly Japanese ones, who end up feeling extremely depressed. Is it really that ugly of a city? What about all the delicious croissants and wine and musette background and lovey-dovey?

Moved there 10 years ago for a job, I dont think its that bad, but I will never have enough money to buy something so I'll probably move back to the countryside or a small city in a couple of years once I have saved enough
