For example in your country, a lot of strong benefits are given to people who have kids, yet native swedes outright refuse to have children. Where one is going, why one is doing things, is a very important part of that. In Japan, that desire to create context is missing. Things are done... on auto-pilot. The method is mastered, but not the reason. You should really read some of Ellul's work, he speaks about that a lot. When context is missing, the natural desire should be to create it. And this is missing in Japan. Accepting a lack of sense in the modern world. My post had nothing to do with GDP or quality of life.
