>>214593452I remember in Arabic class being taught that the arabic number system derived from the hindi one had each number correspond to the amount of angles in that symbol which is why 0 is a circle because it has no angles. 1 has a single angle if you give it a serif, 2 has two if written like a z and so on. The numbers were eventually simplified from there to our modern ones.
