I have visited england. just london though

I’ve only ever visited London and saw very little of it. To be honest, I’d much rather have visited the smaller towns around England, especially along the south coast which I’ve heard is very nice.
I enjoyed it, London left a good impression on me. I was amazed by how clean the tube was, being used to NYC subways back home. I was also surprised by the lack of homeless around the city. There was a really nice selection of foods from various European nationalities everywhere I went. I remember stopping at a random place for lunch to get out of the rain and it turned out to be a Swiss restaurant.
This is extremely touristy, but the best part of my trip was the bus tour. I got to sit on top of an open air bus and get driven around the city and watch everything going on around me. I barely listened to the tour guide, I was having so much fun people watching.
If I ever go back I definitely want to explore England’s smaller towns, and I also want to go to shittier places to eat. Pubs and hole in the wall chicken shops, stuff like that. I don’t think I got a very good idea of what “real” English food is like while I was there.
