The pejorative for a gay men used in many Slavic languages comes from the greek word "pederastes". The Greek word refers to a man who has sex with boys and, in that meaning, it also exists in English ("pederast"), German and may other languages.

In Slavic it languages, its meaning has changed and it's just an equivalent of "faggot" with no implication of pedophilia.
