>nobody even talks about the chinese immigrants anymore as if they don't exist in the westit's over, their 2 week's up
>>214605831there's a chinese immigrant in my house
>>214605831Our town used to talk about Chinese immigrants but in the last 10 years the Indian population really exploded 5x. Not an exaggeration.
>>214605961India's reputation now is about what China's reputation was 20-30 years ago. People have now started to talk about China not as if it's a developing country (which is what they themselves claim to be), but the same way that people were talking about Japan in the 1980s. Would be wild to see India become the next China after they end up stagnating and start being regarded as a 'developed' economy, Liveleak and mass Chinese migrations have already been memoryholed, so I don't see why the same wouldn't happen again. Chinese used to be the largest immigrant Asian population in the US in the 1990s.

>>214606100>People have now started to talk about China not as if it's a developing country (which is what they themselves claim to be), but the same way that people were talking about Japan in the 1980swtf are you talking aboutIt's a set dichotomy that seems to fall along political lines here where libs love China and think it's epic sauce for their density, insane public transport infrastructure, and futuristic skylines, or they say it's a disgusting fucking shithole 2 weeks from collapse with dilapidated dogshit buildings and dog-eating, degenerate freaks populating the streetsI definitely don't think people glaze it in the way people glazed 80's Japan though. I remember my dad telling me about visiting Japan in the 80's and talking about salarymen waving bundle of cash to call a cab, how it was insanely futuristic for the time, how people only wanted Japanese cars, how Hawaii was going to only be populated by Japanese summer homes, how people actually feared it was going to overtake the US any day. I don't think it's that similar. There's more fear and skepticism of China since they're an adversary and also a lot of doubt in the feasibility of their sustained growth, especially with the demographic info we have now relative to Japan in the 80's.
If Xi Jinping dies, the Communist regime will end.
>>214606100Idk man India will take way longer to become China-level developed. Might not even happen in our lifetimes
>>214606221The leader of China is not Xi Jinping. It is the Chinese Communist Party machine.
>>214606100diffrence is the US built its competitor china by pouring all its capital into its industries post 1990 when it didnt have to, china would still be poor today if the US didn't make that mistake, theres a lot of talk about american companies shifting to india even though we can already see with modi that they will turn on us right away, i dont think they will make this blunder twice and india will remain india aka poor
>>214606100The government banned Chinese female immigration here in the 1870's when they were still anti-miscegenation, because timmy couldn't stop having sex with everything.Either way, it's been a lot longer than that
>>214606100didn’t China use toilets 20-30 years ago?
>>214606221they have went 5/5, mao won the civil war, kicked out foreigners and made the country a soverign nuclear power, deng opened up the markets and started the greatest economic growth period in history, jiang got the country into the wto and made it americas manufacturer, Hu continued with rapidly modernizing the infrastructure, poping up skylies and begining the raillines, and showing the world china has arrived at the 2008 olympics and as you can see xi consolidated power making china have global sway with belts and roads and brought a firm posture to go toe to toe with the US
