I'm selling the Northern Mariana Islands... a little rundown----Just got back from Saipan and that place feels like I'm in Southern Japan. So many buildings in japanese. Lots of quaing Matcha tea shops. Tons of tourists from Asia (lots of Chinese and Koreans) who like to say "I was in America!" plus buy American things.I loved it. I was in NMI for 10 days 4 of which were for work and the others were because fuck it when else will I be in NMI kekI was in Guam once and it also has a fuck ton of asian tourists but feels less foreign and more like part of the US. NMI was once a Japanese colony (for 30 years!) so that influence is there. Also Guamanians are a bit more fancy and maybe a tad arrogant. NMI are down to earth people. NMI has asked to join Guam and Guam rejected them since they're kind of seen as country Bumpkins whereas Guam is more densely populated with lots of military and big casinos and top tier US brands.I've now been to every inhabited US territory besides American Samoa. Gotta get on that.Demographics of NMI:Asian: 50%Natives Polynesians: 35% (mostly the native Chamorans and Carolinians)Other 2.5% (read: whypipo)Mixed: 12.5%-----So make your case why do you deserve it... I'll sell it to the country that makes the best logical case.
Can you make Japanese tourists such as those at Saipan's revolving restaurant feel at home, safe, and happy?
