What do Americans say when they are on the 1st floor and go one level down, is that -2? Or 0?
>>214612023we use american system since its the only logical one. we just say the basement or cellar when going down. if its multiple floors below ground its -1, -2, -3 and so on on elevator buttons. a ground floor or zero floor makes no sense. you either are on a floor or you aint, you cant be on floor zero.
>>214612023>a thread died for this
>>214612146>a ground floor or zero floor makes no sense. you either are on a floor or you aint, you cant be on floor zero.???????????????????????????????floor 0 doesn't mean the floor doesn't exist wut
>>214612165yeah sorry its no racebait or xitter/reddit screenshot thread
>>214612146It's a floor at ground level, how does it not make sense?
>>214612146it's first floor because it's the first floor above the ground
JFs actually think the ground stops being the ground if you put a few walls around it
my country used to be first floor - second floor like US then around 10 years back they started using g - 1 - 2 for some reason its really annoying
>>214612358Often apartment buildings have the entrance at ground level with access to the elevator, mailboxes, then half a set of stairs leading to the first floor which is at 1/2 floor's heightWhat would you call this level?
>>214612245>>214612358>>214612470its the first floor you enter, so how is it not the first floor?how do you count money? the first coin you lay on the table is it coin zero or coin one?
>>214612635so what floor is the basement? 0? -1?if it's -1 where is floor 0?
>>214612635In dutch its verdieping or etage, "deepening" something or adding an extra levelThe ground floor is for that reason the natural floor and anything above is an extra level, so level 1, level 2 etcScandinavia is really alone in this together with the US and China and middle east, that should make you ponder
>>214612023You're on the ground before you even walk into the building. For there to be a floor, it first needs to be built.
>>214613029zero is the point of nothingness between -1 and 1. are you living inside the floor between the first floor and the basement? no, you are either on the first floor or the basement/first subfloor.hope my pic makes it clear.
>>214613279no house exists at the same level of the street. It's always a but higher
>>214612598I've never seen this, and I'd call that the architect being stupid for no reason. Nonetheless, in that deliberately awkward edge case, the lobby or foyer would be the ground floor, and the next floor up would be the first floor, just like in a normal building. Is anything done with the half floor on the ground below the lowest apartments, or is that just wasted space?
>>214613343this is cope and you know it>1 - 1 = -1 wow norwegian education
>>214613344What's this?
>>214613344wat
>>214613482never ask a norwegian this question
>>214613428no its mathematicly correct. you cannot have something yet claim its 0. most normies dont understand zero they think its a thing, when its actually the lack of thing. if a house has zero floors then it doesnt exist, if it has a floor then that floor is 1.
>>214613538No it has a ground floor like every location on earth, then one floor above is the first leveling of the building
>>214613538
>>214613482a nightmare for heavy rain days. It's going to flood
>>214613642have you ever heard of a drain?
>>214613682Those always clog when it rains constantly for at least 12 hours
>>214613726Bongs are retarded, no point in trying to argue with him
>>214612023We use the british system and in brazil too.
>>214612635>how do you count moneyThe way every bank in the world doesIf my balance is neither up nor down, I have zero
>>214612023My apartment buildings is like this >lobby (E)>basement (-1) >garage (G) >floor 1 (1) >floor 2 (2) >floor 3 (3) >etc etc >floor 10 (A) The top floor is the attic.
>>214613538>you cannot have something yet claim its 0so your houses all have three third floors, got it
>>214613822Based.
what do britishers say? ground-1?
>>214612023At my cpany the ground floor is called the second floor because people where complaining about having their workplace in the basement.
>>214614352*At the company I work at
>>214614352>>214614387Just do what china does. The basement has street access but it's also under ground level; the first floor has the lobby and little benches outside; and the top floor has a plaza and more adjacent streets for some reason
>>214613726So build a step up. You're still on the ground floor, same as if you're still standing on the ground even if you climb a mountain.
>>214614818>So build a step upthat's not the ground anymore
We use both systems using different word with each one (patro for Bri’ish and podlaží for Burgerican)
>>214613869by zero you mean nothing, this is a pic of a house with zero floors.
>>214615221
>>214612146Zeroth floor does make sense if you're a /g/tard
>>214615221you talk of mathematics, but have not yet conceptualized enumeration as a distinct thing from multiplicationbehold, a norwegian house with a basement (it has -1 floors)
>>214617100bodied that freak
>>214612245there's only so much words
