Do people in your country travel to another country just to go shopping?
No, in my country we just travel to places like Montenegro and Taiwan to go see old monasteries and eat grilled meat from street food vendors.Well, shit, of course I'm gonna go shopping if I run out of stuff to do while I'm on a trip overseas. For example, after going all around the town of Kotor (Crna Gora) and seeing the main churches and the wall around town, I went to the next-door town of Dobrota to go see the mall and get some snaxx at the supermarket. Also, whenever I used to go to summer camp in Southern Germany back when I was a teenager, I'd often go to the nearest mall in town with a group of lads, which meant going to buy low-quality fast fashion clothing items from H&M, Zara, and other generic shops (in addition to doing regular touristy stuff like visiting old museums dedicated to ppl who'd died a long time ago and visiting castles or ruins). In fact, I think the only country I've been to where I never actually got any clothing items was probably Slovenia, but that's because I just did a 4-hour stop in Ljubljana on the way from Trieste (Italy) to Zagreb (Croatia).
Yeah, I do this
People go to Shenzhen for cheap stuff a lot. Our currency is basically identical to the RMB but the mainland is half the price so its natural I suppose. Together with online shopping its gutting local markets though, mainland is the same though in that regard. Tough times for small business.
