7 months post graduating with a degree in CS. 400+ applications and barely any interviews and still no job other than my old part time grocery store job that I hoped to quit after college.

When I look at where tech companies are actually hiring juniors, it's all concentrated in their Warsaw/Bucharest/similar offices as well as their bangalore/bombay/calcutta offices.

Is it worth it to move to move to eastern europe to get a junior SWE job, and once I've got experience move back to the Netherlands? I think the pay cut is fine, especially considering the cheaper COL there. How are the language requirements? Do you need to speak Polish or can you get by with English?

Could a white guy get an offshoring job in Poland? Would I need to learn Polish?

kek good luck, I'm graduating in CS next spring. If I don't secure a job in the US this semester I'm gonna move to mexico (I'm a dual citizen) because nobody wants to hire juniors here anymore. It's the only way I can see myself actually getting experience.

It's disgusting what happened to this field. When I started in 2020 I expected to make a decent, stable living. Now that is only true for people who already have experience, while we are forced into second/third world countries just to get a job at all.

There is some piece of shit out there who will continue to make 200k+ for the rest of his career just because he was born 5 years before you were. He will chalk this up to individual merit, rather than luck.

Would I need to learn your language to get an offshoring job? or do you all speak english?
