The college I graduated from, all the 9+ GPA (India has a 10 points system) guys went to Microsoft, Google, and relatively unknown American tech companies that ship industrial software. The ones like me who were mid but good enough didn't even bother going into pure software and chose investment banking, analytics/data allied stuff or joined as software developer for a bank or some industrial company, and the real low tier 5-6 GPA guys went to Cognizant, Infosys, etc.
