will Chinese entertainment ever get as popular in the West as Korean or japanese movies or shows?

That chigga looks sick of the white woman's shit and wishes he married a tiger mom in the making
>>
does any woman, especially at early 20's, say that to their husband or what ever unless they're doing the tradwife larp seriously?
>>
>>214647733
Chinese videogames are already popular in the West surpassing Japan
>>

God I hope so.

Wukong was 90% China players. Genshin is probably the most popular but it's more anime coded than anything.
>>
Yes probably.
Oftentimes they say the Chinese entertainment industry is mediocre while mentioning their hardcore sensorship, but Wukong(video game) was fairly accepted favorably in global scale.
Aside from AAA games, their indie scene is great too.
Also a gatcha shit. They have dominated the market. I really despise the genre still they make piles of money

Name one popular Japanese show

What's it like growing up as a bullied hapa incel in US, and your racial identity collapsed after Eliot Rodger appeared as your twin-like person.
>>
>>214648660
all of the doxxed info & pics about him came from 1 person - a crazy Greek girl who only dated Asian guys (see pic) - who got into an 'online' relationship with him. Alot of the stuff you are getting is 3rd hand information and if you do some googling, it doesnt match up.

>will Chinese entertainment ever get as popular in the West
the reason why Korean tv shows are popular in the West is because the US/West doesnt ban them like it does to Chinese movies and tv shows.

Not until the CCP falls. Communism prevents creativity

Chinese entertainment needs to drop the "Chineseness" if it ever wants to be global

Every movie or show is like a history lesson nobody asked for, and no one outside China gives a shit

Why did Genshin succeed? Because it speaks an already-global visual language, anime-coded art and character tropes that audiences everywhere instantly recognize. But Why is Black Myth, Wukong mainly played by Chinese? Why does Nezha 2 only get watched by Chinese? Because it's too China coded

Why did K-pop Demon Hunters succeed? Because the performance is spectacle-first choreography, visuals, and short shareable moments made it TikTok/YouTube-ready, Yes K-pop Demon Hunters sprinkles in Korean traditional motifs, K-pop Demon Hunters sprinkles in Korean traditional motifs, but only by reshaping them into modern aesthetics, no one is buying it for the raw tradition.

For Chinese entertainment to succeed globally, it needs to do the same: downplay the overtly local/traditional markers and embrace contemporary, internationally legible aesthetics instead of drowning everything in dynasties and folklore.

Don't forget, What resonates with modern people is not premodern relics, but the modern culture that has shaped this generation.
>>
>>214656000
Kpop demon hunters is still very Korean coded though. I think if it was just about a generic band fighting monsters it'd be a tenth as popular

Of course K-pop Demon Hunters is Korean-coded, it's about a K-pop band after all. What I'm talking about is the traditional cultural elements. If it were made in China, the characters would be running around in hanbok-style outfits, and it would have bombed. Modern audiences don't care about that stuff.
>>
>>214647733
Watching too much Chinese drama might give women an unrealistic standard of Chinese men.
>>
>>214656351
i can tell she is about 30lbs / 14kg overweight
>>
>>214656348
Didn't watch KPDH but didn't hanbok and Korean culture feature pretty significantly?
>>
>>214656351
Is this how I have to be to be attractive to women? Wear suits all the time?
>>
>>214656417
If she lost 30 pounds she'd be a skeleton, she's skinny in other videos, she's wearing baggy clothing in this one.
>>214656479
Women is attracted to status/wealth. Wearing a suit means you're more likely to have a high status, thus high paying job.
>>
>>214656518
I have tech wealth but I feel like it's almost negative value to women.

This is limited to some characters. If it were made it in China, all the characters would be wearing hanbok and there would be a lot of relics from the pre-modern era.

Hanbok and Korean culture appear, but they're just modernized decorations. The success comes from contemporary style, catchy music, and spectacle... not the raw tradition itself. If it were purely historical or fully traditional, it wouldn't resonate with global audiences.
>>
>>214656000
tone it down but not drop it retard
>>
>>214656535
I also work tech, and I wear clothing kids would wear, t-shirt + shorts all day every day. Even my company car looks poor.

The only way I'd be able to show off my wealth is if I wore a nice watch, but fuck spending $5000+ on a watch.

>>
>>214656604
What about a tailored suit? I think the problem with watches is money attracts poorer women the most and they don't know anything about watches. I've had them ask me who Patel Philipe is. Like the price-attractivness ratio is way too high
>>
>>214656643
Yeah, that's the thing. The women who are into wealth are poor and retarded themselves. Unless you wear a highly recognizable or flashy watch, they'd have no idea it's actually expensive.

No fucking woman would be able to look at a Seamaster and know what it is, it would just look like a "regular" watch to her dumbass.

The easiest, most presentable way is to wear clothing, but I care more for comfort, hence my daily wear.

Don't worry too much about women, just be happy with yourself.

Honestly, Expecting the Party to fix this is unrealistic. it's not like the CCP is forcing every Chinese game or show to be a history lesson. The real problem is with the creators themselves, they're obsessed with showing off their traditional culture instead of making content that actually appeals to modern audiences. It often feels like they're upset that their long history and culture isn't getting the recognition or attention they think it deserves.

Anyway, I wish it works out well
