Tip creep normalization is hell. It was always 15%, people just gave 20 because it was easy to calculate the tip. Then 20% becomes standard and 15 is stingy. Now you have people who act like you just spat at the waiter for not tipping 25%. All the while people act like the waiter is some poor victim in all this, while she is raking in hundreds of dollars in tips a night and would rather die than see the system changed.
