I am 34 years old and I never had a jobI use the same laptop since I was 18 and that's basically everything I ownThinking about getting a job because life is starting to become incredibly and utterly boringPerhaps working for 2 years, saving and then just travel around until I run out of money
I wish I have a job but nobody hires me. Not even the garbage collecting job.
>>214670886>travel around until I run out of moneyWouldn't take long
deeply Portuguese conundrum
you can do it anon
>>214670886Hardest working med
>>214670886How on Earth are you still using a 16 year old laptop? My PC is pushing 7 years (no upgrades since purchase) and it feels barely tolerable. Despite being a chronic NEET as well, I think I'll probably upgrade to something mid-level in the next year or two.
>>214670899Is traveling that expensive? I tought it was much more accessible nowadays.>>214671035most people here work (a lot)I'm an outlier>>214671057I take good care of it and I have done some upgradesHowever, it's barely usable, I can barely play any games anymoreI'm basically stuck to browsing imageboards, xitter, reading pdfs, manga, comics and anime
>>214670886curious what laptop Is It? I've changed mine several times
>>214670886Literally me, only my mom buys me new stuff every now and then
>>214670886its too late. your life will never change
>>214671178My mom doesn't buy me anything She allows my lifestyle but besides food and a roof I won't be receiving anything from her, which is understandable
>>214671314Perhaps but I have nothing to lose too
>>214671125It all depends where you want to travellet's say you have 24,000 euros. that would last a while in Asia, but you know it's not a fortune and it won't last forever
If I were you, I would buy an SUV and make it my home, and start driving. Drive all over Europe, drive to China if you want.Booking flights and sleeping in hostels in tourist filled scam towns is not fun or 'travelling'
Get a part time job my man, somewhere like a coffee place, warehouse, factory, whatever. You'll go out and see whats beyond, socialize, force yourself outta your comfort zone, maybe find some hot wet pie where you can stick your pee pee, knowhatimsayin. Trust me, i like beeing NEET too, once i a while i just rot in my house for months, but working has it's charm too.
>>214671554I'm going to get a full time job (minimum wage) thanks to family connectionsIf it wasn't for those I would never get a job due to my work history

>>214670886What do neets spend their time doing for almost two decades and what causes them to one day just wake up to the reality of their awful situation?
>>214672127I don't know about others, but I can share my own personal experience.I grew up in a household where I was constantly told to "play it safe" rather than take risks or chase wild ambitions. That kind of upbringing turned me into someone a bit apathetic, with difficulty finding a clear path or goal. I came to view my future as predictably dull.Later, as I was growing up, my country was hit by a major financial crisis, which only deepened my sense of hopelessness about the future. I basically decided to quit society.I got used to the NEET lifestyle. I had every form of entertainment at my fingertips. For almost two decades, I spent most of my time reading PDFs and books, socializing on the internet, listening to and playing music, drawing, hiking, and watching anime, films, and the occasional video game. (I’m not much of a gamer mostly because my laptop sucks.)In my early 30s, I started hanging out with people in real life who changed my perspective and outlook. Around the same time, I began to feel restless and bored with my routine. Eventually, I “woke up.”
>>214670886>I am 34 years old and I never had a jobbased. I'm almost there
>>214672422How do you support yourself?
>>214672416Damn, sucks bro. Gif related though for the most part. I feel like most people in your shoes here would claim to have some kind of disability even if it's dumb like autism.Maybe you should've gamed more lol. Something I've realized is how playing RPG games in particular has helped me a lot in life and empowered me with self determination. Like once you realize you can beat games like Fallout 3 by min maxing skills like speech or whatever you realize you actually can do similar things irl and from there it's not about will I live a comfortable life but will I reach my full potential? To give you a good old Mormon American pep talk, hear this: I don't think it's too late to turn your life around. I think you can make something of yourself by being interesting and likeable to those in power you come across and that you can find yourself doing something fulfilling if you put your mind to it and will it into existence. You have God given agency and can make a difference with your decisions.
>>214672416Well, if it doesn't end up just being a midlife crisis, don't bother buying a new PC or something if you start making money, it's a trap that'll lead you back to NEETdom once you get overwhelmed, which will happen.
>>214670896Prostitution?
>>214671125No. You can travel very cheaply.I travelled for 3 months in eastern Europe / Balkans on $5k. And a third of that was on flights.Volunteering will let you stay longer.Or you could do some working holiday
