Only 'con' is that there's less economic opportunity for you if you're a poorfag wagie cagie, compared to the west. But that's simultaneously a pro because it means less brown people come here. Other than that it's one of the comfiest places with some of the most beautiful and well-preserved cities in Germany.
>>
>>214782348
>Only 'con' is that there's less economic opportunity for you if you're a poorfag wagie cagie
It's literally the other way round, east Germany is better for regular wagies who make something between the minimum and average wage because there are plenty of jobs in supermarket, warehouses, factories there and cost of living is very low.
East Germany is only worse for ambitious people and women because it lacks light office jobs or innovative industries, so they have to move west.

That's why eastern Europeans like east Germany so much, they don't mind working in factories and such. But you won't see many Middle Easterners there for the same reason

Map is wrong, the border runs THROUGH Essen. Parts of Essen are Aldi Süd.

Also the very first Aldi was in Dortmund. The shop doesn't exist anymore, it was too small to be profitable and was abandoned in the early 2000s.

Yes, but it's not bad. When the brothers Albrecht were still alive, the one running Aldi Süd didn't believe in tobacco and smoking, so cigarettes and tobacco wasn't sold in his stores. Apart from that they sell the same assortment, many Aldi "brands" are made for both Süd and Nord.

An Aldi cashier once told me prices vary even between Nord and Nord or Süd and Süd stores. The stores belong to a franchise taker and he sets the prices for his stores and his stores alone. So you may find the same item for 5 or 10 cents less in another part of town. You can find out which owner a store belongs to by the address / telephone number that is printed above the opening times next to the entrance door.

The day before yesterday I learned what "rubbeldiekatz" (make it quick!) means, resp. where it comes from. In the middle ages money was kept in small pouches often made from cat fur. (How horrible!) They were worn like a belt. If somebody wanted to buy something and check quickly if he had enough coins, he would "rubbel die Katz'" or finger his pouch to "get a feel" of how many coins were in there so he could quickly estimate if he could afford it or not.
>>
>>214790250
I'd rubbel die katz if you know what I mean.

Yes, the world is divided into North and South according to Aldi. Countries outside of Germany usually belong to one of the two, but the US is an exception. Aldi South is called Aldi there, and Aldi North is Trader Joe's I heard.

In Germany Aldi has renovated and in most places completely torn down and rebuilt their stores. They now have nice shelves, elegant lighting, and a very nice floor. The only thing that sets them apart from other stores is a limited discounter assortment and that they don't remove the carton around the items before they place their goods in the shelves.
