>The Satanic Verses (also the حديثة الغرانيق Gharaniq incident) was an incident where Prophet Muhammad reportedly acknowledged Allat, Manat, and al-Uzza, three deities or angels of the Pagan Meccans in a Qur'anic revelation, only to later recant and claim they were the words of the Devil
>>
the Bible also mentions several different gods

this is what muslims want to kill that britbong muslim author?

Salman Rushdie
>>
he did it to appease the pagan meccans and they mocked him for that contradiction (abandoning monotheism). then moe claimed that satan misled him, which was more disastrous since god's prophet is now susceptible to satanic manipulation.
>>
>>214900723
yes, because it basically means "if that was a fake verse told by devils, then how many verses else are fake"
it immediately and totally destroy the supposed perfection of their magic book and renders it useless, which would destroy the whole premise of their sky magic
>>
what's with the muslim autism of the quran being divine by itself?
not even the most crazy christian denominations do this

because muhammad had to vest divine authority in himself. by being the middleman between muslims and god he could do whatever he liked. the quran doesn't even mention the specifics of prayer (one of the five pillars of the religion, it that had to be fleshed out from sunnah and hadiths) but it has chapters devoted to maintaining muhammad's spousal affairs and sex life.

>The story of the cranes is a story mentioned in some history and interpretation books, which has been denied by many contemporary scholars and interpreters, who unanimously agreed that it is false, fabricated, and untrue. The story says that the Prophet Muhammad was leading the people in prayer in Mecca and reciting Surat An-Najm, and while he was reciting, Satan put words in his tongue praising the gods of the polytheists and affirming their intercession with God. These words are: (These are the exalted cranes, and indeed, their intercession is desired). When the polytheists heard this, they were happy and reassured and prostrated with the Prophet Muhammad because he praised their gods and mentioned them in a good way in his prayer. This incident was the reason for the revelation of verse 52 of Surat Al-Hajj: “And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he made a wish, Satan cast into his wish. Then Allah nullifies what Satan casts, and then Allah confirms His verses. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.” [Al-Hajj: 52]

how does this meet wikipedia's standards exactly? it feels like a biased muslim wrote it

muhammad had a scribe for a time, abdullah ibn abi sarh. he was above the status of companion, the most exalted position for muslims. one day he wrote two godly adjectives in reverse while the prophet dictated. the prophet shrugged his shoulders and said 'okay'. abdullah realised the whole thing was a sham, packed his bags, and went back to the infernal pagan meccans. moe was so incensed he used suggestive language to encourage his companions to assassinate abdullah. it is one of the most devastating incidents in the religion, alongside a loopy 13 year old kid (saf bin sayyad) who claimed to be a prophet and made muhammad freak out, and make critical errors.
>>
>>214902310
He does open by saying that "contemporary" scholars agree on this.
Which means the closer you get to the life of mohammed, the more people tend to agree it's real.

Difference in the fundamental story of how the two texts came to be
>bible
>written down by several people over hundreds of years with secondhand accounts of Jesus's life and teachings
>quran
>written down by the prophet himself directly transcribing the exact words that God tells him
ergo the first one is allowed to have some errors because it's made by fallible humans while the second one HAS to be perfect otherwise the entire thing falls apart.
>>
>>214900648
Of course the bible brings up the pagan gods just to prove that they are false. Matthew 16:18 explicitly states that such evil won't destroy his church.
>>
>>214902351
this just proves my hypothetical that muhammad would've been famous in the blackpill sphere were he to be alive in the 21st century, this is textbook incel behaviour

the houris (heavenly wives) are more incellish. Or the fact that he forced his adopted son to divorce his wife and hand her over, after she answered the door while not fully covered.

>After Uthman and al-Surh had left, Muhammad turned to his Companions and said:
>"Is not there any intelligent man among you who would stand to this (man) when he saw me desisting from receiving the oath of allegiance, and kill him?" and that "I kept silent so that one of you might get up and strike off his head!". They replied: We do not know, Messenger of Allah, what lies in your heart; did you not give us a hint with your eye? He said: It is not proper for a Prophet to have a treacherous eye.
This reads like something Terry Pratchett might have written.
