>>214920315I thought it comes from a slavic word for a swamp, because it's a wetland.Sort of how Branibród was named like that because slavs found shallow waters you could get though (bród) and built cities there.Then when Germans came and called it Brandenburg, meanign castle, based on slavic fortifications (burg) that they encountered.
They should change the name to Germania.

Same like Eskimos supposedly have 50 words for snow or something
