1. Are you a foreigner in the country you live in?
2. How do you like it?
>>
1. Yes
2. Despite the memes I work a technical and critically important position. I have a lot of time in the officebecause I am called upon infrequently.

>>215020761
Do you speak Estonian?

>>215021057
So you are not an immigrant, but technically you are a foreigner to where you live. Why don't you move to another area with your own kind? Do you like it in that community?
>>

>Do you speak Estonian?
Well enough, but can trip over big words so group settings are difficult

I'm no longer young, healthy and ambitious. I also don't want to be pushed around by some German. I don't like the situation with migrants in most countries.
I would have earned more if I had left years ago, and now Poland is repeating the scenario with migrants so double L for me

Yes, French in Montreal
I really like this city even if it take me like 6 months to get a job in my field (~1300 people applied to my job in IT), the rent is high ($1650 for one bedroom or 3 1/2 in Quebec) and there is an epidemic homelessness rate.
I'm trying to get a new work permit. I don't want to go back in France anymore, this country is fucked. Hell, whole Europe is over
>>
>>215023054
Did you have to compete with Indians for the IT job?
>>
>>215023054
Lucky bastard. I wish i could escape poorope
>>
>>215020405
I have foreign ancestry, does it count?
>>
>>215023054
I forgot to mention I'm living in downtown Montreal because I don't have a car and with my work permit (work holiday visa), I can't access the SAAQclic, you need the social security card that I don't have the social security card (RAMQ)

I work primarily in English but not knowing French is in unironically the greatest filter for them (and the best thing ever since they destroy the job hunting market. I don't hate the ones who are here for a long time but the FOB [fresh off the boat] are one hell of a breed).
Not living in Montreal decrease your chance too. My case is special: I have like 4 years of XP as a DevOps but both parents are from the Caribbean (Guadeloupe). So, I got more chances and it will be great in the future in case I have to care of my parents when they will retire back in the Caribbean

>>215023210
If you're under 30 like me, you should try getting one.
I know that Canada is in bad state since the Trudeau II era but it is better to be stuck in Europe
>>
>>215023562
No company will hire me in canada. I work in finance and they only hire indians. I will quit my job and get my whv eventually, i am just trying to save about 60 to 100k first to get by as i search for a job
>>

Not the best advice bit if you know French, you have your chances in Quebec.
I really wish you good luck because for me, it was not easy, I have burned like 7k euros in several Airbnbs before getting that job (when you're a newcomer + no job, it is difficult to rent a place for someone with an unstable situation)
