I personally stay away from any smart appliance. The real danger (ads are shit but merely annoying) is when companies drop support for their smart appliance and you the customer are left with a brick.

My family are Californio turbochuds and don't like to buy anything that isn't American made and ultra durable. We have three fucking 50~70 year old fridges and they work fine. Old American appliances were overbuilt as hell to survive abuse and lack of maintenance during a prolonged nuclear war.

My dad actually got two of them to run efficiently at a low electrical draw by rigging them with capacitors and new motors/coolant so they're not even environmentally unsound. Have one of these gems running currently. Cools way fucking better than the lame Samsung fridge I had previously. I can actually freeze meats in the crispers on the lower settings.

Grandparents also have a Kelvinator Foodorama and a Philco Futura that still works.

The most efficient way to lose weight is to be in a calorie deficit and be constantly moving. The most efficient movement that's sustainable long term is jogging at a pace of around 3-4mph. Because of the way the human metabolism is, you could virtually run like this all day. Drinks like vitamin water, body armor, gatorade, etc (Praise be to ALDI knockoffs) have vitamins and have an energizing effect because of the high sugar content, making the process painless until you get hunger pangs, which a few bites of fruit can stave off.

Reatoring a half century year old GE refrigerator is way more expensive than buying a $2000 Samslop nu-fridge. Cold War era GE, Philco or Kelvinator were like the Rolls Royce, Cadillac and Bentley of white goods. Richfags pride themselves on preserving those. They were gloriously overengineered. Poorfags just finance some used mid range made in China fridge and put up with it being half broken.

My great great grandpa was a machinist/draftsman and bauxite casting engineer in Mexico during the Porfiriato era. Got invited to the US during the Mexican revolution when all tradies were dying off or getting headshotted for supporting Diaz. He was perma-frustrated with how Mexico never fucking invested in industrial progress after the revolution and became hyper pro American.

I think when he left there were literally zero companies in Mexico that could employ his skillset. Even in the US aluminium engineering was a new trade. Got really into refrigeration and aircraft when he moved here. He designed the production line for a bunch of the canneries and frozen food plants in San Diego and Los Angeles. My great grandpa did aircraft landing gear and tank parts during WW2/Korean war and that whole side of my family have had an asperger obsession with maintaining old domestic machinery. Got one of his flight recertifications on an RB-36 which is pretty fucking cool.

Grandpa is also an aerospace chud and is currently restoring a DeSoto Deluxe and a Cadillac Series 62 and a Continental 12 cylinder engine. I keep telling him he needs to document this shit but he hates social media.

It's a fucking travesty how much American over engineered stuff is being lost. Whats crazy is that it was even mass produced yet it's still disappearing because people are failing to realize how fucking above the curve it was and just think it's disposable junk.

CICO isnt real, the human body isn't a thermodynamic machine
jogging is painful and unnatural, there's a reason you're not enjoying yourself while you're doing it
"vitamin" drinks are sugar water, you can't extract vitamins out of foods and neither can you create them, synthetic vitamins are all toxic
fruits won't nourish you at all, they're good for hydration thoughever
you should just eat wholesome animal foods and you will naturally lose weight

>CICO isnt real, the human body isn't a thermodynamic machine
A lot of people focus too much on the "CI" part, but did you know that you can accelerate the "CO" part with a diet that is high in sugar, particularly from fruit? The organs of the body run off sugar, and this explains the natural phenomenon of the "sugar high."

>jogging is painful and unnatural, there's a reason you're not enjoying yourself while you're doing it
I agree that jogging too fast is painful and unnatural and it is a lot of people's introduction to the movement, which causes them to distrust it later on. Running at or above 5mph on average starts to become uncomfortable and laborious and increases injury. But at a walking pace, this is as sustainable as walking but doubles the calorie burn (the "CO" part again) because of activation of your big quad muscles.
This method of slow jogging is also scientifically proven to be the fastest route to releasing the endocannabinoid responsible for "runner's high" which suggests that it is a natural movement.
See picrel on annas archive.

>"vitamin" drinks are sugar water, you can't extract vitamins out of foods and neither can you create them, synthetic vitamins are all toxic
This is why I mentioned it. Sugar (especially from fruit) is good for you. Children naturally gravitate to it and then run around. Vitamins in my experience have been hit or miss but I have not noticed a toxic effect. But the statement
>fruits won't nourish you at all
Is wrong.

>you should just eat wholesome animal foods and you will naturally lose weight
This is also true. Especially high fat for a ketogenic diet, however, this is statistically not easily followed through to the end. It's better to resort to this for the therapeutic effects, when you're sick, for example.

>>215028364
NTA but there is a speed around 3~4mph in which you default to walking fast or a slow jogging motion, but you are still going at a walking pace. This is ideal.

do you think any of your relatives (200+ years ago) ever thought about any of this?

>cico or fad diets
>what our organs use for energy
>vitamin supplements
this is all just noise with 0 real meaning
your relatives ate wholesome food because that's all there was, if they were really poor or if there was a famine they would eat grainslop, now people do that willingly
if you think fruits have nutrients, go ahead and eat just fruits for a month and see how you feel
then try only wholesome animal foods for a month and compare
>>
>>215029515
>do you think any of your relatives (200+ years ago) ever thought about any of this?
My dad runs marathons for fun so there is definitely the tendency. 200+ years ago we were poorfag agrarian Polish/Ukrainian mutts on the westernmost border of what would soon become Austria-Hungary.

>if you think fruits have nutrients, go ahead and eat just fruits for a month and see how you feel
Yeah, I'd lose weight, which was the point of the post. You are understanding now. Combine it with slow jogging and it is completely optimized for weight loss.
>>
>>215028983
/int/ is really gonna laugh at this but californio, hispano, texano etc are what the actually euro spanish criollos called themselves across the various northern domains of new spain, and particularly continued to do so once mexican identity was established to distinguish themselves from the southern mutts. It's almost extinct as an identity except for in new mexico, where a few thousand white new-mexican-spanish (different from normal mexican spanish) speaking people still refer to themselves as hispano/spanish, I knew one in college

tl;dr: hispano californio texano means people descended from white spaniards from a long time ago

you can lose weight eating cardboard, that's not at all the point you were making
you were saying fruits are nutrient dense and therefore are nourishing, implying you will feel good while eating fruits
my point was you will feel like a corpse if you eat only fruits for a month and especially if you jog while doing it
I can tell from your marathon answer that you're deluded though so I'm not gonna argue with you anymore

The point I was making was about the most efficient way to lose weight. You will find that here >>215024247

>you can lose weight eating cardboard, that's not at all the point you were making
Maybe but it is not efficient, because it is not sustainable the way I laid out is.

>you were saying fruits are nutrient dense and therefore are nourishing, implying you will feel good while eating fruits
You do. If you ate a can of peaches and drank all the syrup your leg would be bouncing from the energy.

>my point was you will feel like a corpse if you eat only fruits for a month and especially if you jog while doing it
I don't have a month's worth of fat to lose, but I could do this for about 2 weeks and get down to single digit bodyfat just to prove myself. I haven't eaten any protein, fat, or even starches today and I can go through with this if you'd like.

>I can tell from your marathon answer that you're deluded though so I'm not gonna argue with you anymore
My dad genuinely feels compelled to run them then, if not for like of it, it's something.
I feel like it's similar to little kids when they get some candy in them, they run nonstop till exhaustion. Running is supposed to feel good and kids report that they like the way running feels.
