And yet now European seems to know about it except for France, Italy, Spain and Portugal

Are you European? Do you know this series?

This is literally EVROPA: the anime/manga (with V, specifically) and its unknown to most European countries except those mentioned before

Even in fucking Greece, where most of the series is set and draws the plot, Saint Seiya was never broadcasted. Apparently because in the 80-90 there was a controversy regarding Greek polytheism and the orthodox church pressed to eliminate any form of revival and this had to do with this series never ever making it to that country

Anime didn’t take off in the UK like it did in France. There was some attempt to import it and dub it (see the infamous Urusei Yatsura dub that only lasted a few episodes) but for whatever reason it never gained much popularity. I can only assume the anime broadcast was never given much airtime or advertising, especially considering how weeby people are now after being more exposed to it. Anime with European settings are usually kino, though it’s a bit sad that the most well known anime set in England is Black Butler kek.

He meant the series are cheap and thought to sell products. Which is true, Saint Seiya didn't have enough success in Japan as much as in Europe and Latam, and a lot of the cloths were redesigned intentionally to make toys. The first bronze cloths from the manga are very shitty in design
>>
>>215270748
At the time, it was as popular as Dragon Ball, but that popularity didn't last long.
But then again, maybe Dragon Ball and JoJo's popularity is just abnormal.

It seems Japanese people see France as a land of elegance and refinement, in reality half of the population is made up of blacks and arabs, we're a violent brown shithole in the process of demographic replacement
