The French should change their country.I want to see France develop its own unique soft culture, unique style, unique urban architecture, a country distinct from the mutt world. Instead of the France we see now, even though I'm not French, I feel sad. How is it different from muttland? Where has France's unique style gone from the 20th and 19th centuries? Where has France's pride gone? I only see a variation of muttland. Sad!

From my experience, even when being self-conscious about this issue, it is very hard to extirp myself from it. Many views I have on the world, I know have been shaped my American values, sometimes more than French ones. When you look at history, the main factors of distinct cultures are distance from other cultures and natural constraints, usually geographic, such as topography, climate... In an inter-connected world where technology allows us to overcome most of nature's challenges, is it possible to create or even maintain one's own culture? I doubt it.
