The French should change their country.
I want to see France develop its own unique soft culture, unique style, unique urban architecture, a country distinct from the mutt world. Instead of the France we see now, even though I'm not French, I feel sad. How is it different from muttland? Where has France's unique style gone from the 20th and 19th centuries? Where has France's pride gone? I only see a variation of muttland. Sad!

All French people agree that our country is literally a mini USA culturally speaking. Every single societal trend they go through, we go through within 3-10 years

What do you want us to do?

Turn France into an island kingdom?

So where's the French BLM? Who's the French George Floyd?

This seems to be the case across most of Europe. USA’s influence as well as the rise of the internet turning everything into a monoculture has been a disaster for countries standing out on their own.

Adama Traoré

But he died in like 2005

Ceci.
I'm not sure if it's possible to come back from this. The content we consume on a daily basis is either American, either a French variation of it.

From my experience, even when being self-conscious about this issue, it is very hard to extirp myself from it. Many views I have on the world, I know have been shaped my American values, sometimes more than French ones.

When you look at history, the main factors of distinct cultures are distance from other cultures and natural constraints, usually geographic, such as topography, climate... In an inter-connected world where technology allows us to overcome most of nature's challenges, is it possible to create or even maintain one's own culture? I doubt it.

That's one part of it but also every cultural outlet is very busy promoting either demoralizing lazy stuff, USA knock-offs or wonderful African art.
So there's no fertile ground for a genuine art movement
Only someone like Houellebecq can exist in this situation

Global pop culture is slowly killing any and all originality and organic, local culture through internet. This is also valid for every country in the world, even complete recluses like NK and Bhutan. It's completely over, humanity has fallen.
