KKKajun culture is definitely French because it fully embodies the racist misogynistic transphobic xenophobic alt-right Nazi incel bigot chud culture of France.

The people of Louisiana didn’t one day decide to celebrate Mardi Gras and bake beignets because they felt like it
>>
Cute accent when speaking English, good food, good art, strong identity and they are often more proud of it than others which I think is good, I think they also see the world in a different way than us anglos and find it interedesting when speaking with them.

I agree with this anon, Cajuns were cultural split off from France since before the Revolution, hence the Fleur de Lis still being in common use and not seen as a symbol of the Bourbons or monarchism in general for instance. I once saw a pic of "the whites of the US" or something that described Cajuns as "pretty much just a [Southerner] who speaks French" and from my experience the biggest thing that's wrong about that description is that the French langauge is rare besides the elderly. On top of that, there's a number of anglicisms in Cajun French for obvious reasons.

>>215311891
This is probably just a shitpost, but any sense of this being true is more because of the former point of the cultural overlap with the Deep South rather than any sort of French influence. Arguably also just the usual trend of rural areas being more "right wing". Even evoking the KKK specifically is an example since they were Anti-Catholic.

>>215311928
Mardi Gras isn't as big as it used to be, and to my understanding it was never very major in France itself. Cajun cuisine is also much different from France's. An obvious example here would be that the French galette des rois is fairly different from the Louisiana king cake.

Ultimately that French anon is right that it's comparable to crediting Britian for Texas or the US in general. You could argue US culture is more British than modern Cajun culture is French.

The Norman occupation of England gave English its range of complexity with Latinate words
All schoolchildren from English speaking countries should study French simply because it will make them better English speakers. We've lost sight of this as we generally get dumber and dumber with each passing generation
