So as a gringo in the borderlands I love to go to Mexico to visit mi amigos and disfruta la vida. So I'm on my way back (third day in a row I'm coming back).

So I get to the border and CBP is some Kentucky boy who clearly signed up for some Trumpian reason but that's cool. Just check my shit and let me get going.

So he goes "What were you doing in Mexico" I go "Just visiting some friends" He goes "How long were you there" I say "About 6 hours"

Now this is where it gets interesting... he says "When's the last time you were in Mexico" so I as a joke say "Too long ago" (the joke being that I was there yesterday and that's too long to go without Mexico) and he gives me a stern look.

So I go... "Listen gringo to gringo... you gotta relax. In the borderlands we like to tell jokes and josh on one another. It's a little bit of Mexico and a bit of USA down here and you gotta assimilate to the borderlander culture"

He goes "Don't tell me what to do. When were you last in Mexico"

I say "Yesterday. Maybe you should try it sometime. Maybe you should cross the border now that you're living here. I remember when I moved to the borderlands I realized life could be a dream. You moved here to work at CBP... but why don't you work on your life and give in to the romantacism of the borderlands."

He just said "Here's your passport..."

Talk about sour grapes.
