Is greece the worst documented major european country when it come to life there ?
What happens there ? how do people live in that ragged terrain and thousands of islands ?
>>
>>215330728
From what ive heard the overall economy has recovered and is doing well but QoL for the average citizen has gone to absolute shit and the country is doomed
>>
What I wonder how they manage the inmigration from Turkey since they have islands that are very close to Turkey and thousands of inmigrants could arrive there with ease. Or use hundreds of boats just to inmigrate to Greece and then to other EU countries.
>>
>>215330728
Lmao they've messed up the location of some cities or towns

Nothing much happens. People live in tumble-down concrete cities, sit in cafeterias for hours on end, eat out a lot, subsist on government handouts and are generally fairly idle and workshy.
They'll probably never achieve a great cultural or economical feat because they're unambitious and content with what little they have.
I don't think they mind so I don't even pass judgement.

They have like 4-5 million syrians that would like to emigrate to the West.

tr and eu have refugee deal signed in 2015. if someone from turkey migrates to eu illegally europe have right to deport people back to turkey and this what happens most of the time.

Türkiye has used their immigrants as a pressure tool like in 2015 and in 2020 for example, the recent arrivals from Libya to Crete are also definitely caused more or less by Türkiye

In 2020 they would take illegal immigrants and refugees from Istanbul with buses to the border telling them that the border is open so they would cause trouble trying to come here because there were increased tensions in the summer of 2020 because of some ship they wanted to bring in the Aegean for seismic surveying for oil and gas

But do you have police/army against inmigration in all of those hundreds of islands? Can they claim refugee status once they have landed 1 one or they are sent back?
Or how do you deal with possible hundreds of small boats that arrive in any island or even in mainland Greece?

There is coast guard in all these islands close to Türkiye and there's frontex presence but if Türkiye wanted to play their game again they could probably easily flow the islands with tens of thousands of illegal immigrants as a political pressure tool against us and the EU, occasionally you will hear in the news here about fishermen getting harassed by Turkish fishermen or Turkish coast guard by trying to ram boats or more rarely with shots fired in the air by their side while supposedly being in our waters

I don't know how refugee status is exactly given but I guess the country complies with international laws although we recently stopped accepting refugee claims for 3 months at least because of increasingly big arrivals of thousands from Libya to Crete, I've seen somewhere that most of them arriving are actually Egyptian, then from different places in Asia like Pakistan and Afghanistan among others and only around 15% of them coming from Sudan where there's a civil war

Greece is a country with incredible nature and history. Sadly its state and institutions are third world. I've travelled a lot around the world and wouldn't move to another country except if Greece wasn't an option anymore.

Read that as QoS for a second

Based distinction maker, i hate the institutions here with a passion, but i love this land to an unbelievable degree.
