I forgot to reply to this Japanese guy. The point is that yes, men wear military uniforms for hunting, fishing, and menial work because they’re cheap and mass-produced. They’re not worn only by veterans. Plus, it’s important to understand that in post-Soviet countries people don’t call those who did military service “veterans.” The term “veterans” is used only for those who actually took part in combat. And in Soviet times, probably around 95% of men served in the army.
