Current trend in Finnish apartment building is to have kitchen, hallway and livingroom to be the same room. This is sold as being "spaceous", "dynamic" and "convienient" to the Finnish apartment buyer, when in reality it is to save even more money during construction.

This has led in oversupply of housing units what nobody really wants to buy due to awful layout. These housing units also rarely have additional rooms, so raising family in one is impossible. Concern over this is handwaived and ignored at every level of infrastructure planning. Does something like this happen in your country
