These bloated overstuffed mansions are a pain in the ass to upkeep, Gilded Age mansions were abandoned by the uber rich for the same reason, the upkeep bankrupted many a new money folks, if you're going to larp as an aristocrat at least take a few cues from their lifestyle and build a functional aristocratic residence, more acreage than built area is a start

Dont worry bro, an Indian CEO will buy it and make it his family residence where he will live with his Polish wife and 7 Indian-Polish children, so I believe it will be well kept

Funny how just having money never equates to sensible decision making and taste, life truly is just a bunch of random events, no one in their right minds would make a ruinous decision to buy a decrepit old mansion and "restore" it just to live in it, might as well build a new one suited to your needs

You know, in Europe there are architecture and heritage protection officers, your personal taste doesn't matter, you can only rebuild a piece of historical architecture the way it is determined by a heritage protection plan and you have very little choice on your own. That's why Europe looks so good. All we need is money and once an Indian CEO has enough money then we can be sure the building will be done properly

Huh? It is done very often because rich people just see it as prestigious to live in a historical mansion. If you're poor you will probably never understand why they do it but rich people have different needs and something else makes them happy. Once you're rich enough, you stop caring about best value-for-money ratio in everything you do, that's what only poor people do. You just go for the vibe, prestige, happiness. There is a reason why so many historical mansions in Europe are owned by rich Americans, Arabs, Indians, Chinese etc even if they historically have nothing to do with them. But still they feel like it's prestigious so they need it to boost their own status and pride. Same why Indian guys are so desperate to marry white women
