>>

walmart
>>
>>215367099
Sweden don't have thou. At least for alcohol. Here you can buy alcohol in whatever store
>>
>>215367009
why are convenience stores called bodegas in new york?

convenience stores are overpriced anyways. rather get some jeet deliver it to me using the subscription grocery delivery service that i use here. as long as i spend $35, a jeet will deliver it to my door for free
>>
>>215367225
It's very racist to use jeet two times in a small text like that
>>
>>215367265
Sorry, I meant some PoC (person of curry) will deliver it to my house for free
>>
dairy, all own by pakis so all the shit smells of curry lol
>>
>>215367225
I'll assume it is because the first owners to popularize them were latinx
we have something similar here in which we call these kind of stores "chinitos" (chinese) because it is almost always a chinese person running them
>>
>>215367320
Here it's called "chez l'arabe" at the Arab or something.
Probably connected with first immigrants who did this
>>
The gas station
>>
>>215367409
this
in my opinion, something should only be called a "convenience store" if it's attached to a gas station, otherwise it's basically Dollar General which no one would consider a convenience store
>>
>>215367320
>>215367385
so what do you call a convenience store opened by an indian?
>>
>>215367409
Everything in a gas station in Sweden is twice as expensive than in a grocery store, and you have to be careful to not buy something that is already expired.
>>
>>215367523
L'épicier du coin
>>
>>215367557
same here
although drug stores (Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid) are more expensive than even convenience stores in my experience
>>
>>215367523
nothing because those are rare here
indians (hindus) are mostly known here for selling perfumes and carpets
>>
>>215367320
>>215367523
In UK they’re called Paki shops (even if owned by an Indian). “I’ll pop down to the paki shop and buy a Diet Coke.”
>>
>>215367914
>noooo saar this is not paki shop this pure brahmin shop saar!!
>>
>>215367557
Same, but it’s also the case with an NYC bodega
>>
>>215367009

She's genuinely retarded, because the problem actually exists in reverse of what she's implying. I lived in NYC for work for a few months, and it was impossible to find everything you need in one store because of the sheer lack of shelf space. If you wanted to get groceries + certain home items like a folding chair or fertilizer for your garden, that's like 3 different stores.
Out in Suburbia you can get everything in one trip from Walmart.
>>215368351
Kek'd
>>
>>215368609
I de nt see that as a problem really
>>
>>215368641
It becomes a problem when the 3 stores in question exist in opposite directions from your home.
>>
>>215368742
and when you presumably have to transport all goods from all 3 stores on foot or on public transit
>>
>>215368641
I rather buy bulk than buy at my own convenience. I do like having White Castle literally block away.
>>
>>215368742
>>215369066
I dont buy furniture more than once every 2 years, maybe if you live in a detached home its more of a priority, idk, since like standard materialist slop to me tho.
What i need is groceries, and having that closeby is a luxury

The supermarket is a ten minute walk across a bridge and along the bay, but I don't drink soda or eat processed chocolate candy, and I order household items too large to carry. I also don't worry about getting mugged, stabbed, pushed in front of a train, or rats in my garbage. I love rats but not in my garbage. It also doesn't smell like piss here and mysterious liquids don't drip on me everywhere.
