I like Old Kingdom and Late period Egypt under the Saite Dynasty (it also helps they are the first accurately dateable dynasty). I prefer Mesopotamian literature though, they are far less preachy and LUV ME PHARAOH, LUV ME GODS in flavour and tend to be a lot more funny and human. I am better read on the Assyrians and Akkadians. I've dabbled with the Hittites but not too much.
