The director of the anime took a cinematic approach to it.

The manga's artstyle has a more semi-realistic/stylish artstyle to it which makes it more eye-catching and noticeable in the sea of goo-goo eyed anime slop. Combined with an interesting premise ( demons being based off humanity's fears and an organization dedicated to ending them by fighting fire with fire + the MC being an underdog caught in the middle of it ) makes it even more interesting and memorable.

The only shonen really worth watching is DanDaDan because the author (a former assistant to the author of Chainsaw Man, btw) studied shoujo manga to properly convey the characters' emotions. And it shows; there are fewer stupid misunderstandings and people actually talk with each other, shocking. But anyway, Chainsaw Man was okey-ish, like for shonen. Waiting for One Punch Man 3 though
