I lived in Europe before and it's crazy, they are great, they are humble, polite, nice, amiable, empathetic people, meanwhile germanics/nordics (even french) are very weird, they all follow the same stoic personality, they try a lot to be sarcastic to sound smart or witty, they maintain the same face all the time, they never ask about you or make an effort to keep the convo goingSupposedly they're all the same people, but they act like different species in that island
The British Isles is its own micro-continent within Europe (a subcontinent of Asia)

I think the UK isn't a very insecure nation, there's lots of aspects of lots of parts of our culture which we know aren't especially refined etc but we like them anywayI think this contrasts with the mainland in that because their culture is a bit more under threat from globalisation, they feel a bit more defensive

I don't find the British to be nice people. Esp. in London metro no one talks to each other at all. Rest of the country is depression and passive-aggression.
