I was bored, so I kicked around the snow until I accidentally made a fairly large lump, which gave me the idea to build a snowman. I spent the remaining hour and a half at my post building the snowman. It consisted of three large clumps of snow. I even made details like a belt, a collar like a sheepskin coat, a fur hat with earflaps, and made a hand for him to salute with out of snow-covered branches. He was standing right across from the road that led to our warehouse. When the duty officer (a senior lieutenant in our company) came to check on the guard, he didn't notice the snowman when he drove up. I was delighted, but just as I was about to return to my post, he called our guard commander and scolded him for the snowman. And they made me break it :(
